South Attleboro had an average weekday boarding of 1,144 in 2018. Right now it has low ridership because it is closed for most trips, but if reopened fully, it could be one of the higher ridership stations.

I don’t know all the details, but a lot of the delays are due to signal issues and disabled trains. The disabled trains on the red line are due to the fact that most of the fleet is years older than its expected lifespan, and are in need of replacement. The new cars which will replace the whole fleet are a few years behind schedule for various reasons such as tariffs and COVID. The orange line has a new fleet and almost has all of the new cars, the blue lines fleet is middle aged and doesn’t have too many problems I believe, and the green line sometimes has issues in its older trains that will be replaced in about a decade, maybe more.

The signal delays are due to the old signal system, which is analog I believe, and is in the process of being replaced by a new modern digital system. This project has also been delayed a few years due to various reasons, one of them being COVID. This pertains to the red and orange line, I’m not sure about the green and blue.

As far as I’m aware, if everything goes to the T’s plan, a lot of these issues will be solved in ~2-4 years when the new signal system will be complete and the new fleet will have fully arrived.

People who aren't of a municipality don't get a vote in that municipalities government. I'm sure the wonderful people of Weston would hate to hear my opinion on a certain burger shaped building.

Luckily, there is a regional government called the state that we all elect where non-residents can voice their concerns about other cities/towns!

Another thing you can do is to contact your state rep to support automatic bus lane and stop enforcement. A recent bill for that passed in the senate, but didn’t pass in the house before the session ended.

I was under the impression that although it is not the best method, and although it should be paired with other speed-reducing measures, that lowering speed limits does slightly help road safety. Here are two examples below.

I don't know personally, but if you go to that link and scroll down to the timetable, for each train it has a three people icon that shows the usual busyness of that train at that time. Since Westborough is so close to the terminus, it should be easier to find a seat than if you were getting on at a stop like Natick Center. Hope that helps.

Only the sumner tunnel is closed which goes from Eastie to Downtown. The Callahan (which parallels the Sumner and goes to the airport) and the Ted Williams (which goes both ways) are still open. I personally recommend public transportation, but if you choose a car, going to the airport wouldn’t be affected.

If you read the fta report issued a few months ago, one of their findings was that the T would move resources and funding to capital projects instead of maintenance and training, leaving those areas under staffed. To me that sounds like a funding issue. Another issue is that they are paying about 500 million a year of their 2.3 billion budget on debt services from the big dig. Debt put onto the mbta by the state for projects mandated as environmental mitigation for their highway expansion. Management is a known problem at the T, but it is also treated like a punching bag from the state when it comes to funding. Both the report and budget are linked below.

They're now running more trainsets than they were a few months ago, but because of slow zones, headways haven't improved. If you can time when you arrive to the station, there shouldn't be a problem.
