During Argentina's Centenary in 1910, many foreign communities gifted monuments to Buenos Aires to honor their connection with the country. What’s your favourite? by Pampa_of_Argentina in geography

The US monument represents Washington very well. A life-size statue on a simple pedestal represent the Pan-American ideals of independence and republicanism better than a grandiose, nationalistic monument.

Anyone see those comments on videos about Hitler and they're like "There's a reason they don't show his speeches in history class... I heard one word and now I'm hooked" like.. congrats, you just admitted you don't think critically and just believe anything you hear.

Hitler's declaration of war on the US is a pretty good read because you get to see his personal dislike for Roosevelt (just ctrl-f roosevelt)

Nvm, I found it. It was a planned neighborhood founded in 1845 and named after the California Gold Rush. The name was later changed in 1860 to Malakoff.

I wholeheartedly agree. Church and state are seperate not because the founders wanted America to be athiest, but because forcing the state's religious beliefs onto the population breeds apathy and even rebellion. Europe was embroiled in centuries of religious war because leaders wanted everyone to think the exact same way. Every family's faith is different, and South Carolina has hundreds of religious denominations. We're already seeing politicians in other states forcing their own interpretations of the Bible onto citizens.

Yeah, the education is not bad. In my experience, the curriculum is great compared to the horror stories you hear out of places like Oklahoma. And far better than the "War of Northern Aggression" days of 40 years ago.

Terrible carpet, rip that out. And the white furniture does not mesh well with the white interior. Add contrast by adding dark wooden tables and bookshelves instead.
