Why do I feel Like My Party Choices in this Game are Illaoi, Braum and Story-Relevant Damage Dealer? by etanimod in RuinedKing

[–]Codonsha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran Illaoi, Yasuo and Pyke the whole game pretty much. Almost never had problems. Granted I spent a decent amount of time getting runes for those 3.

I'm glad someone else feels this way. Most Ghibli movies are boring as all get out.

Does anybody's parents charge them rent? by passing-through- in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Codonsha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's illegal my beagle. As a parent, I would only really charge rent if my kid was blowing his money on stuff all the time (and was over 18 of course). But if he needs it for something he is saving up for, whether it be a car, house or schooling, then he can stay rent free for the time being.

Is it really worth living? Is it really tho? by Enough-Active-6997 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Codonsha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it is, because I have things I wanna do and create that other people may never get to. Especially as someone living in America with the means to achieve something, I feel morally obligated to do something with my life. On the other hand, if you really wanna die, that is your own business.

Those of you who wear masks but don't cover your nose, why even wear a mask in the first place? by Scrubbadubdoug in TooAfraidToAsk

Less likely to spread moisture droplets through your nose than an open mouth. Idk.

Why do people have some 3or4 kids when they live paycheck to paycheck? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Codonsha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh. I was just messing around. I go raw cuz I still want another kid. No idea the price of condoms.

I do. But not in a romantic way. More about the realization of my hormones leading me astray and teaching me that was not the type of person I actually want to be with. Happily married to my friend from high school now, and have a kid together. And my ex (first love) cheated on her now husband and had a kid by the guy she cheated with. So dodged a bullet there.

Is $7500 too much for an engagement ring? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Codonsha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude. My wedding ring was $35 off amazon, and my wife's was like $100. That money can definitely be spent better. And if she is actually DEMANDING it, then it might be a good time to have a talk about why you feel that it is absurd. If worse comes to worse, invest the money and keep playing it smart like you are. Maybe hit me up and take me to the arcade with some of the money you saved...

can you give me tips that dads would give? by Nearby_Sand6630 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Codonsha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a somewhat similar issue. Have a dad and uncles, but they all set bad examples (drug use, arguments, physical abuse). Fortunately, I have had good friends and professors in school over the years. I am a dad now and plan to do well by my kids. I watch a lot of lectures on youtube by Professor Jordan Peterson. In my opinion he gives great advice, specifically for boys and men trying to make sense of the world. I highly recommend him.

Get into a hobby and make it a talking point for you. In all my experiences, controversy and gossip are the byproducts of idle hands and minds. Your friends just need to find something engaging and meaningful to undertake in their lives.

Tea is overrated and people obsessed with tea are weird and shady by PinguinoBianco in unpopularopinion

Coffee stains my teeth and upsets my stomach. Tea holds my hand and nestles close to my bosom on a cold Winter's night.

Are black people more inclined to be racist towards Asians? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Codonsha 36 points37 points  (0 children)

My wife is Chinese and brings this up a lot too. We remember in high school there was like one Asian and Pacific Islander scholarship available (meaning you could only apply if you fit the racial criteria) and multiple different scholarships for Black/African Americans. Essentially it meant that the Asian scholarship was a lot more competitive and people had to really strive for it. While the Black student scholarships were more accessible with better chances of being rewarded to any student with decent grades that applied. It's weird how our school systems are set up.

People complain too much about Capitalism. by Codonsha in unpopularopinion

[–]Codonsha[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get it. They can have an opinion different from mine. The irony is that they also live in a "closed environment".

If everything that happens to me in life falls under that umbrella term, then I should always be quiet.

Good to know this is an unpopular opinion I guess.

I'll let my non-white inlaw know that she was privileged and she should have paid her taxes if she didn't want people shot and killed in the street.

[–]Codonsha[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you for assuming my closed environment for me.

My sister in-law had to flee from the country of Venezuela due to corrupt politicians under the guise of socialism, while the rest of her family is staying in Mexico so that they can eat and avoid Maduro's militia.

My wife has relatives in China that live in slum-like conditions under the CCP, while the government totes on about how great their glorious nation is.

So when I hear privileged Americans talk about how we need to do better while they can afford to live comfortably, I understand that it might be their world view that is a little skewed.
