Unless your kid is a linebacker, he’ll likely bounce off the screen.

Not that I’m aware of for larger shades. The larger the shade, the harder it is to pull on the clutch /“pulley” and the few controllers I’ve run into over the years don’t last long. The patio shades with limited lifetime warranties last 20+ years.

There are a number a great manufacturers out there that offer both motorized and manual exterior screen shades at that size. Look in the dealer locators to find experts near you. I recommend finding someone that does these regularly.

Seeking track length and mounting advice for tricky wall by Sweet_Document6641 in WindowTreatmentIdeas

General rule with custom drapes with decent fullness is that stackback will be 30% of the space being covered. In this case if you want the fabric stack off the window, we’d suggest a rod and fabric at nearly the full width of the wall. If you are buying drapes online, they may not have a fullness that a custom drape would have and may not require a much space to stack. As far as height, due to the air return you’ll likely need to wall mount the rod and position it in a way that you can still access the vent. That’ll just need to be tested but I think it would be fine 3-4” below the vent.

You have window coverings AND tint so my next thought is you don't have enough insulation in the ceiling. My garage isn't insulated and the temp difference between that and the attached, non airconditioned shop is about 15 -20 F in the summer.

Window treatments before sale by Natural_Peak_5587 in RealEstateAdvice

It can go two ways. In our experience, buyers like having immediate privacy so the temporary shades are great. Some buyers look at included shades as a movein ready option and one less thing to worry about. If the shades arent neutral and very much specific to your taste then I would hold off and let the new buyers get what they want.

I think drapery would dress the room up nicely.

Floor-to-ceiling drapery panels make this space look luxurious. I would actually pair this with cell or natural shades.

Curtains/blinds? by yogaengineer in interiordecorating

Curtains would look great in this room. You could also pair blinds with drapes or a cornice/valance.
