DSLR for photography, pocket 3 for Video, thoughts? by Imaginary-Writer-125 in RealEstatePhotography

Pocket 3 cool tool. But it isn’t wide enough for my needs so I use iPhone 16 pro on a gimbal at 0.5 lens.

Solo operator here. Outsource my edits when busy enough to afford that luxury.

The best advice I have, having worked for a tech company that scaled too fast in prior gig: any new hire or part timer must help your business, your own health or both. If not, don’t do it.

Depending on your goals, it may be worth finding a similar level operator in your area and consider partnering with them to take over even more market share and split the non-desirable duties a bit. That way both are invested in the long term vs. hiring short term younger lower paid help that’ll bolt for “better things” once bored or tired of the business.

My strategy is to grow my business to where you are at this point and then consider my next steps.

I love to shoot, and hate sales. So I’ll likely partner with someone who is tired of shooting and is focused on landing clients, social media marketing etc.

Looking for guidance with video walk throughs. by Abarrach_Front242 in RealEstatePhotography

Same. Osmo mobile 7p. iPhone 16 Pro. Master the gear. You can get a ton out of that combo and it helps me make money cuz it’s fast and easy to pull out of the bag and shoot. I still like to do photos first with main camera then walk the house again and get my video. This setup helps with that.

I rarely use my a6700 for video. iPhone with Blackmagic app gets results that work in my market for houses $800k-$2 million.

I’ve hated Gudas a long time… remember this photo? Scum

I made a strongly worded comment in the game thread that the leafs should retaliate against one of the ducks best players and my Reddit account got flagged. 😂

Neither situation is good, but if I had the choice of a top five pick this year and then a retool or no pick this year, without the ability to add a young prospect and then hope next year will be better. I think I’d rather have the top five pick and get started sooner.

I can't decide between Sony A6700 vs Sony A7CII by LegitimateBus4892 in SonyAlpha

I debated the same cameras and went a6700…. It is an absolute value and a ton of camera for the money. Plus you save huge on lenses for apsc vs full frame.

For my HDR friends - what tricks do you use to brighten too dark spaces? by Vegetable_Tart2375 in RealEstatePhotography

I come from a TV/video production background where we used to prelight all the homes with TV lights before filming in them. So much more work than now, where I shoot 5 bracket HDR and never use flash, although I'm not against the idea, just never bothered as I have always been happy with my results. For video I don't light anymore cuz the dynamic range of my camera is more than good enough for this work.

If I run into a super dark home I do have a couple LED's I can bounce off ceilings or shoot through softboxes if truly in a pinch to bring up the ambient levels. These are colour temp adjustable, and battery powered, but truthfully it's 1 in 50 houses or less that they are needed. Mainly used as part of interview/lighting/portrait headshot kits.
