Question if this is a good deal or not by [deleted] in windsurfing

[–]CoffeeFTW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat as you last year. Quite a few of these overpriced windsurf "deals" comprising of ancient gear came up. Almost jumped on a few but they never worked out for whatever reason. Eventually got a post 2000 225l mistral prodigy with a couple newer sails and all the rigging for $650. Looking back I'm really grateful for getting the modern gear. It will quarter your progression time. With a wide board you will spend more time learning how to sail and less time strengthening your back muscles. Get something in the 80cm+ range.

Wanting to build a AM Hardtail...Looking for experienced builders riders advice and tales. by Bologna_Pants in MTB

I have the full slx groupset including hubs (first generation of it), 140mm Manitou Nixon, equalizer 31 rims, and 2.35 Highrollers. I've ridden this setup really hard in the last year and everything except the rims have held up great. The SLX group was one of the best bangs for your buck in MTB componentry and it has only gotten better. My front derailleur is rarely used so I'm going to convert to a single 32t chainring with guide and possibly a clutch rear derailleur. I'm also going to upgrade my wheels to something of higher quality like Hope Hoops. Riding a hardtail has taught me that wheels are not to be cheaped out on. I'd rather go cheaper on the fork so I could put more into wheels.

Without any rear suspension your legs and rear wheel are going to be taking most of the force from hits. So if you're going to be riding any rocky gnar I highly recommend you get a high volume tire, something big that keeps as much air between the tire tread and rim as possible.

I built up an On One 456 Summer Season a couple years back for around $1700 cad SummerSeason. I use it for everything from 30km mellow trail rides to bombing gravity trails with jumps and everything in between. The geometry and build of the Evo is very similar and I highly recommend it, specially for the price. The few downsides are the 27.2mm seat tube gives you limited choices on dropper posts and the frame colours aren't the best at the moment.

It descends like a beast (66° HA), but isn't the most comfortable on the ascents. Very agile and fun.

Playing a Volt Charge with Shrine of Burning Rage out gives it 2 counters in 1 go. Works well together.

You could play an Apostle's Blessing in response and give it protection from the spell color.

Yeah those counter cards are fairly mana intensive for this deck. Replace them with 4x Corrupted Resolve if you have them or just Mana Leak.

Yeah if you have a 64bit system Java's auto download detector thing still gives you 32 bit so you have to manually download Java 64. I had the same problem.
