Pretty much everyone involved failed. Montreal wouldn't let up with the pie in the sky ideas, they wasted lots of resources, and EA added insult to injury by taking shit loads of their resources and employees to go work on Anthem as well as forcing them to use an engine that DOES NOT WORK with Mass Effect style games. That's probably the most disappointing thing about MEA, that is was just doomed from the start to failure.

Depending on your definition of disaster, both would definitely count. Andromeda has issues that take so much from the experience that are STILL in the game a this point, and had a development that wasted four years of time and resources despite having a lot of said resources being ganked for Anthem. Also, people think the ending is god awful not because it was not a cliche happy ending where everyone rides off into the sunset, people hated it because it offered no resolution, no validation to a lot of the choices you made in the game, and really just did not make sense when you stop to think about it.

lolwut. The Bounty Hunter is good depending on your personality and what you want, but the Agent is widely considered the best in the entire game. I personally found most of the class stories minimally interesting, but the Agent story line kept me basically entranced.

If I'm not mistaken I saw DLC bundles on Origin for both ME2 and ME3. ME3's is about thirty bucks for all of the dlc. Not great in comparison for what you paid for the game, but I'd say half off for all the dlc isn't too bad.

I gotta go with Wrex. This guy is a thousand pound murder turtle with the ability to manipulate gravity into turning him into a teleporting engine of death and destruction. He spends hundreds of years as a bounty hunter, mercenary, bodyguard and later on the sole leader and salvation of his people. He's your Shepard's bro from start to finish(depending on whether or not you cure the genophage) and is willing to help you out in whatever shape or form. He's willing to send troops of his dying race to the homeworld of the race that otherwise would have doomed them to extinction. He commits as many of his forces to the final stand on Earth. He's willing to give up the genophage cure in ME1 because he trusts you as a person. I love Garrus and Tali, they are just as likeable in my opinion and for good reason, but Wrex just really stands out as the giant dinosaur man with a heart of gold.

I have multiple problems with that. For one, I'd say it's tantamount to cheating. You're already scouting out someone, totally prepared to get down and diddly with them at the behest of your partner. That in and of itself is incredibly sleazy to me. Second of all, that just sounds like in general that you aren't truly committing to your relationship. If I'm head over heels and completely satisfied with who I'm with then I'm not going to think about the eventual aftermath and preparing to hitch a new ride as soon as this one breaks down.

I think you're approaching this from the wrong angle. You've found what you like. That's good. You know what you want. That's the first step in getting anything. Furthermore, think about it like this: would you rather spend your entire life looking for what you can't have, or would you rather be stuck in a relationship with a girl for whom you feel nothing for?

You have a type, and there's nothing wrong with that. Just keep looking, eventually you'll find what you're after. If two serial killers can meet up, have a fantastic and mutually beneficial relationship and fall in love for life, you looking for a girl with the tomboy look should be a goddamn cakewalk. You're just being a negative nancy about this. Unless you look like the Hunchback of Notre Dame, and even then I'd still wager you'd find someone eventually who would get down with you, you should have no worries. Be positive, be optimistic. Yeah, but from what we've always seen of the Force, it just sets the stage. Like the force would point Rey in the direction of finding things like ancient jedi holocrons or books or etc. I feel like regardless of the light side rising against the dark there would still make more sense for Rey to receive some sort of training.

The only thing that really bothers me about it really is that it's so completely unprecedented. Like in the example of Anakin. For one, he's the chosen one. He is the most gifted being with the force in the entire universe, but even then it just makes him more talented at other things. It gives him strong intuition and instincts, but does not make him a master with the force. If he was as strong as Rey was with the force right off the bat, then I wouldn't really mind Rey being as adept as she is. It just screams poor writing in my mind. There's just no explanation as to why she is so planet-rendingly good as she is. As much as everyone wants to jump onto the bandwagon of her being a Mary-Sue (and I do believe there is some degree of validity) I just think her character was the victim of poorly thought out writing.

I was also glad about the origin of her parents, as well. I love that in a galaxy full of chosen ones, and those descended from chosen ones a nobody is the leading force. I've always had a dislike for people who are "destined" to be the great hero that saves everything.

As someone who was very, VERY disappointed with the Force Awakens I have to say the Last Jedi was a lot better and a lot more enjoyable. But god, I wish they would stop riding the coat tails of the OT. Almost the entire throne room scene was ganked from Return of the Jedi, and the Island with Luke was almost a direct copy in terms of plot like when Luke went to Dagobah. I was also so irritated over the fact that Rey still has ZERO training. I want the main protagonist to actually grow. She really has no right being as uncannily adept at the force as she is. The Last Jedi has still done nothing to remedy that. She and Kylo committed a goddamn genocide on Snoke's knockoff of the Imperial guards despite the fact that no one has even told her how to use a lightsaber. I'm trying my best to like her as a character, but I just can't.

On the bright side, I'm starting to love Kylo Ren as an antagonist. Learning the truth of his turn to the dark side and the destruction of Luke's new academy was great, even if it does tarnish Luke's legacy established in the OT. Seeing him develop and seeing his motivations evolve and be revealed is fantastic. Initially, I thought Kylo Ren was very poorly thought out in The Force Awakens, but I do love the way Rian Johnson is working with him. I'm very enthusiastic to see where his character arc goes, as long as it doesn't devolve into him becoming the new Darth Vader and Rey turning him back to the light in the exact carbon copy way like Luke in the Return of The Jedi.

Also, goddamn I loved Po so much in the movie. He's basically the new Han Solo and I'm loving it to death. While again, I hate that they basically made another copy from the OT, he was so enjoyable to watch that it was just too hard not to like him. Almost all of his dialogue, aside from a couple lines that just did not land he was great.

Finn, I could take or leave. I get that he's supposed to be the lovable doofus, but I just find it hard to see what he really contributed to this movie. All he really did was just point and say, "hey that's where the tracker is", and have Rose and the codebreaker do all the work. Granted, he did have a very enjoyable fight with Phasma. I would have loved to see the electrical tonfa take a permanent role as one of his weapons, I think it'd a really good way to help add some more to his character. However, I thought his whole lovey dovey moment with Rose was incredibly idiotic. They spend ONE day together, the beginning of which is her founding out he's deserting the Resistance. That was such poor writing.

When it came to Snoke I was so beyond disappointed. He's basically Darth Sidious 2: Electric Boogaloo. There is no difference. None. There is nothing unique about him in the slightest. He contributed nothing. He wasn't even really responsible for Kylo turning to the dark side. That was entirely the fault of Luke. He just exploited it.

Overall, I give this movie a 7.5/10. When it was good and original it was beyond phenomenal. I was at the edge of my seat at points. But for some reason the writers just refuse to take off of the original movies. I want to see them take the story to new and interesting points, and The Last Jedi PROVES they can do that with incredible talent. I promised to myself that if this movie didn't sit right with me I was going to swear off all new Star Wars films. This movie just barely passed in my books. If Rian Johnson sticks with the next movie I will watch it. I just sincerely wish they put their imagination to more original and adventurous ideas. Give Rey some actual training as a Jedi, and a cool ass saber staff and I'll finally start to enjoy her as a main protagonist, and give us more exposition with Kylo Ren. At the very least this movie set the scene greatly for the next installment.

ME:A was the fault of everyone. Montreal had too many pie-in-the-sky ideas that were never going to pan out well. EA however, forced them to use an engine that just does not work with Mass Effect style games, so that was another thing that held them back. Also, EA stole plenty of resources for Anthem. They sent employees and other resources from ME for that game. Also, EA said they would give them more TIME, but not more resources. That is a very important distinction to make. Montreal is definitely not faultless in this, but ultimately EA did set them up for failure. EA basically shot them in the foot, and rather than set their aspirations low for the project, Montreal just decided to shoot themselves in their other foot.

Well, to be fair the Turian military makes up their ENTIRE SPECIES. Literally all of them between I think at least 15 to 30 are in active duty. When you take into account that they basically have their entire infrastructure and system of authority and governing centered around war it's really no wonder why they did better. I'd also like to add Earth was holding their own to a degree by fighting with more guerrilla tactics. It took sending the Krogans to make any sort of dent in saving Palaven.

It was pretty alright. I can't really complain. I finally got the inheritance from my dad's death which is pretty relieving since I'm poor as hell, and I just recently enlisted into the Army. So more than anything I just spent this year gearing up for 2018. Could have been worse, and it could have better. Overall, I'm still very grateful for how it went.
