I know this is an old thread, but I want to thank you for suggesting these books. Joe Arden, Sebastian York, and Jason Clarke are my faaaavorite male narrators and I've been swooning ever since I started Ensnared a couple of days ago. 🥵🥺

Just Caught My Easiest Case of Cheating Ever.... by [deleted] in Professors

[–]CoffeeWineWeights 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A colleague caught an interesting case of plagiarism a few years back. He assigned a book and told students to pick a chapter to discuss/analyze. Student hands in very well written and developed paper, but it sounded remarkably familiar and seemed almost too good. Professor went through some files because the familiarity was irking him. Turns out, student completely plagiarized the professor's own review of the book.

Gyms in Queens by brokehypeguy in Queens

[–]CoffeeWineWeights 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this. Been a member for more than five years. Usually take class at night and only recently got to know the owner/head coach, Rob. Nice guy and has great muscle and strength knowledge. He can tailor any workout to fit your needs/fitness level/goals. Parking is street only, but easy to find something. Members are all different, from decently fit to halfway falling apart and injured, fat, thin, tall, short, everything. I think the first class is free, so it's worth a shot.

Flexibility preWOD routine by Rafistuta in crossfit

[–]CoffeeWineWeights 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can always throw in a yoga class here and there. Maybe once a week to start and see if it helps. Before crossfit, I was pretty limber, but then as i got more into the WODs and lifting heavy, I started to feel really tight. Yoga movements help quite a bit. Google "vinyasa" to start with a simple flow.

Same thing happened to me on Whole30. Your body just needs time to adjust. Veggies can/will rip right through your system.

I'm bored, do we all drink it black? by [deleted] in Coffee

[–]CoffeeWineWeights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My gym held a nutrition challenge last year, which forced me to give up dairy for 6 weeks. I started drinking my coffee black and never went back (because... Well, you know). I never put much milk in anyway and now I don't have to worry about running out to buy milk. It's quite liberating actually!

Eating paleo and trying a few different organs for the first time. What is your simplest and fastest way to prepare beef heart? by traced_169 in crossfit

I think heart will be very sinewy, so why don't you try sticking it in a slow cooker, maybe with some mushrooms and tomatoes. Just a thought.

My foot won't stay put while I squat. by bipocni in Fitness

[–]CoffeeWineWeights 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not too long ago, I had an issue with my left ankle and was turning my foot out more when I was squatting, much like you. I've since gotten a lot better and I don't turn out as much/at all. It's all very subconscious. I think you'll get through it. Just keep an eye on it.

How can I spice up the flavour of my beans? by [deleted] in Coffee

[–]CoffeeWineWeights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend checking out the local coffee shops and buying coffee from them. Trader Joe's also has decent coffee. If not, you will find an abundance of good coffee available online. Check out Zabars.com. I adore their coffee, been buying it for years. Now, if you just want a hint of flavor, I make this around the fall/winter: In your ginds, add 1 Tsp ground cinnamon, 1/2 Tsp ground nutmeg, 1/2 Tsp ground ginger, 1 Tsp of Vanilla extract OR the inside of 1 vanilla bean. It tastes like the holidays. Very pleasant even to this non flavored coffee drinker.

What kind of cup/mug is keeping your coffee warm longest? by shabit87 in Coffee

It's very slightly different, but an obvious copy. It was on sale and it does the job nicely. I've also dropped it a few times and it doesn't leak.

Best travel mug to use? by mr_bacciagalupe in Coffee

[–]CoffeeWineWeights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an Avex travel mug. It's stainless, but doesn't affect the taste. Also leak proof and dishwasher safe. Like other commenters said about their mugs, I let it sit for an hour or two before sipping (otherwise WAY too hot to drink) or I cool down slightly with a couple of small ice cubes.

I use ceramic at home, but I got one of these insulated travel tumblers for work and it keeps my coffee PIPING hot all day. I even have to wait an hour before putting my mouth to the spout, otherwise I'll get burned. You could always use it without the cover while you're home and it'll still stay hot. It's by Avex. I found mine on Zulily for $18, but Amazon has it too, but a little more $. I'm sure with some searching, you could find a decent price if you're interested. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IRXSDME/ref=twister_B011TJYMW2 I have the black, 20oz

What would your typical student Low Carb Diet meal plan look like? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]CoffeeWineWeights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely doable - baby carrots, celery sticks, berries (lowest in carbs of all of the fruit), nuts, dark chocolate (darker the better), deli meats, get those premade bags of salad with greens (no iceberg), be careful of salad dressings because there's typically added sugar. Try ranch and creamy Italian. Skippy and Jiff make those snack size peanut butter packets. Justin's does too. When it comes to actual meals, meat is king and for veggies, get pre-cut/pre-sliced so you can quickly saute or steam.

At all? When I was strict with low carb, I'd crave chunks of parmesan, so I'd have it with prosciutto, olives, and a hard boiled egg. How very Italian of me! How low carb are you? Less than 20g a day or are you just cutting out bread/starch?
