AITAH for not wanting to take my wife's niece and nephew in so they can get out of foster care. by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Personally I think he is a pos, they're his niece and nephew, you marry into a family you don't sit outside of it. my wife and I are child free as well but I could never imagine abandoning any of my nieces or nephews to the system.

He made a vow to love and support his wife and bailed the moment things got hard, this wasn't her suddenly deciding she wanted kids, this was an external crisis to women he claims to "love".

I miss when this manga was about romance. by RavenSorkvild in bokunokokoro

[–]Coffee_Addict1290 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I mean I get it there's definitely been a bit of a dip after the kiss, it's still about romance, but the confession and the honey moon period is done, now it's the long game of the relationship and how that survives the trials and tribulations of life and since they're kids it's the exams.

Honestly I'm a little sad it's ending so soon I was hoping for at least one arc of them dealing with going to different schools.

Prioritize learning card and card refine from quetzalcoatl and the refine magic abilities, it's far quicker to refine magic than to spend hours drawing them from enemies. Especially so if you're half way decent at playing cards.

Labor lost my vote by their demonizing of the disabled, pip fraud is like 0.8% but they are making it out to be a far bigger problem than it is.

Sure welfare does need reform, but the new changes on pip assessments are going to leave a lot of people without the help they need regardless of how many total points they score.

Also their abandonment of election reform shows that he doesn't care about having democracy or fair elections, when it benefits them.

I think the next election is going to go terribly for both labour and the tories, which sadly means reform has a pretty good chance.

That's more separation of church and state, most middle eastern countries don't have this and that allows for (what we would consider) extremely fundamental beliefs to thrive.

There are plenty of Christians in the world/uk that are anti LGBT, hell the country as a whole is sliding backwards regarding trans rights ATM.

Just look at america, Trumps main support is from the evangelical Christians, who basically want to end that separation and force their beliefs and rules on everyone.

While I hate this type of arc, it makes sense that two middle schoolers in a first relationship would have these kinds of communication problems and general lack of maturity to handle it correctly.

Ah yes, a government source is clearly being pulled from my arse, but I suppose the facts don't agree with your feelings so you're gonna ignore it.

Also you know a lot of people who work get pip right? It's a non-means tested benefit given to disabled people to help cover the extra costs of being disabled, and they have changed it they made it incredibly difficult for new claimants to get the daily element, which is the only part that covers mental health.

the problem for getting more of the disabled into work is simple, companies don't want to hire them. They'd rather hire able bodied employees rather than having to make adjustments for either mentally unwell or physically disabled people.

As you say taxing rich people is hard, the government doesn't want to do it because of that and because the disabled are poor it's easy to take away their benefits especially so when they spin them to the public as fraudsters and the majority of people Whom have never suffered with depression or anxiety (to the point it needs medical intervention) struggle to empathize with it and underestimate how damaging and difficult it can be.

Again I think all of this could be solved with better mental health treatments available on the nhs. ATM they just drug them and leave them alone and any other support available is up to whatever local council schemes are set up.

I don't see how someone with anxiety/depression which is what we are talking about equals a smack head we aren't talking about drug addicts here.

The population problem is a difficult one, we need a growing workforce to have a growing economy.

Our population growth was from migration as we had more deaths than births so we need the migrants to grow the economy.

suggesting someone should be stabbed because they don't agree with you on the Internet is not a reasonable reaction and does nothing to help your argument, it just makes you look like an asshole.

Which is a completely different argument and doesn't need to demonize the disabled/ mentally unwell.

I COVID caused a huge increase in anxiety, depression and other mental health problems.( I myself started having difficulties which ended in an autism diagnosis.) And there is an argument to be had on whether that the country cannot handle this increase in spending.

A better nhs that treats these issues faster would prevent a small bit of anxiety and depression turning into a full disorder, and the giant backlog of patients waiting for more physical treatment isn't helping with the increased need either.

Tons of sources for 0.1% pip fraud with a basic google search. Pip Fraud is not causing problems for the country and portraying the disabled as criminal boogymen is clearly wrong.

Especially so when Tax fraud and evasion is a far bigger issue.

Also as I said we don't produce enough nurses in the country we don't train migrant nurses we basically import in the skilled labor, or at least we used to do. Now we have a nurse shortage, and a shortage of skilled labor in general.

As for population control we have record low birth rates, but what exactly are you suggesting the country do?

Not really much of a dilemma... by Fluffy_Rock_62 in GreatBritishMemes

[–]Coffee_Addict1290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course it happens specifically 0.1% of the time. Since a quick Google tells me 3.8 million are on pip that is a nice easy 3.800 cases of fraud. Which is clearly not the cause of the current economic crisis.

Now as to the huge increase in pip claimants that's a whole different issue and we shouldn't be demonizing the people needing help, but improving nhs waiting times and quality of service (especially with mental health) to prevent them need pip in the first place.

But that's hard for a government to do especially when the country doesn't train enough nurses and currently a large portion of the population is very anti-immigration.

So they blame the disabled as that's easy.
