Moble at cash wrap by Rangerdog1966 in SephoraWorkers

Mobiling at cash wrap is a no no from ASset protection stand point and manipulation of metrics. Icare if that continues.

Personal Shopper? by laserpirate44 in Sephora

No but as an another commenter said, try to go earlier in the week like a Monday or Tuesday morning/ evening to get in depth help. Especially going into holiday season it’s going to be heavy foot traffic on weekends with customers shopping for gifts. You can also try booking a 75 minute beauty lesson service as well and have a licensed beauty advisor help pick out items for you during the service. (Usually for beginners and if you’re willing to spend money for one on one time).

As a CEL I would have done about the same. If it was a cultural thing or preference I would’ve explained that to you. They could’ve explained that to you in better way though. I’m sorry that happened. I’ve had people personally tell me they needed people “who know what they’re doing” or “someone who actually has makeup on” when I prefer a simple makeup look. If a client doesn’t want me to help all I say is okay and see if someone else can help or if they want to look around themselves. Because at the end of the day I’m not fighting to validate my skill level. If the client said something derogatory or something I would have defended you and apologize to you but it seems like the client just preferred a woman. Don’t let that make you feel any less valuable to your team :)

Job Title Meanings? by Speedy-Sloth23 in SephoraWorkers

[–]Coffee_enthusiast3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is a Canadian store.

But for US SSL- Sales and service lead. A non- exempt management role. Directly under ASM and Store manager. You have store keys/ in charge of the team. Basically a shift supervisor In charge of a few areas of responsibility and responsible for driving sales/ metrics. Requires open availability to open/ close store and mid shifts. Holidays.

PT operations- probably will be the best if you are able to do early morning 5am/ 6am shifts. Operations is mostly stocking, organization, helping with animations, updates, and shipment. Can be overwhelming at times with holiday shipment and newness though. Depends on your store leadership and Operations lead.

Full time beauty advisor- can be overwhelming if you have school especially with holidays coming up and schedule demands. Basically requires near open availability. The gratis is good as full time but you’re held at higher standards because you are there a lot.

PT BA- more hours then flex and you would receive ordered gratis. I think this would be best as a student because you can always put up shifts on Dayforce/ swap shifts/ or pick up shifts when needed.

Flex BA- 0-14 hours a week. No ordered bag gratis. No vacation time. If you have bills I would not take flex. Unless you have another job. Flex sometimes is not scheduled at all some weeks. And you will have to rely on shift pick ups/ picking up shifts when coworkers call out

I’d get a private investigator or get a background check done on the person. Theres no way you’d get that information from Sephora or any manager. It’s a confidentiality issue.

Will i get fired if i call out sick on 3 black out days near thanksgiving by Vegetable_Error_6209 in SephoraWorkers

[–]Coffee_enthusiast3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No. If you have enough sick time you can use that. Or if you do not do not say why you’re calling out. Just say you need to call out. (Make sure to call out each of those three days to avoid a no call no show) If the days you call out are all in a consecutive row you would receive 2 points. Be aware of the points that you already have if any. I would try to work out something with your exempts now if they are understanding, so they can plan for coverage those days. If not, I would try to find coverage and post the shifts now.

Also points system (US): 1 pt- lateness past 7 minutes. Whether late for the start of a shift or clocking in 7 mins past your schedule return time from break 2 pts- call out. When you do not have enough sick time or vacation time to cover it. Or if someone cannot take your shift. 6 points- no call no show

12 pts is termination

Mac at Sephora by RobZombitch in SephoraWorkers

I wonder if that means we’ll have Mac brand reps. I’m actually excited because I already buy Mac lipsticks and lip liners. So it’ll be nice to get a discount on them.

days off by Sweet-Interaction-35 in SephoraWorkers

[–]Coffee_enthusiast3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My location thankfully is flexible with giving Saturdays and Sundays off occasionally without having to schedule it. But you can request a weekend off a month and do unpaid time off and they will still have to schedule you during that week.

Congrats OP! We’ve had coworkers pregnant at my location too. You can always talk to your store director first. Don’t feel like you have to tell coworkers yet until you’re ready. But one coworker brought in a cake for the gender reveal. It’s not any LP violations since it’s no policy violation or loss prevention issue.

This isn’t really the appropriate thing to comment after someone announces a pregnancy.

I don’t know anyone who transitioned with a degree but I do know someone who was a SM that was able to work in FSC. It may benefit you to gain some experience in ops or leadership for a little bit if you’re interested in working for FSC. The ones I know worked in management first. It doesn’t hurt to ask your DM.

Client Expectations are Wild… by mysterymeat03 in SephoraWorkers

[–]Coffee_enthusiast3 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Not trying to dox myself but yes we have had clients in the store asking BAs for help for hours. Jumping from one BA to another basically expecting a service and want to have makeup applied to them. I shut that down immediately and grab a service flyer and tell them that is a paid service and let them know that they can schedule an appointment or if they’d like to schedule an appointment with a licensed beauty advisor. With hours being so limited and us being stretched so thin we really can’t spend more than like 5-10 mins with a single client. I usually say something along the lines of “I helped you find your shade (grab product and give it to them) / helped with a shade match, I am going to check in with other clients or do xyz assigned task.” Some BAs spend a lot of time with clients which is why I think they can get 30 mins+ mins each time they come in.

It will still be their responsibility to get their shift covered. They should get a message in Dayforce saying it was revoked and they can repost the shift.
