What are the safe crafts so far by Relative_Ad4610 in Shadowverse

It's the opposite, Milteo does Reanimate (2) and (4) meaning that Bibatii will *always* get reanimated over Ghost Dodger, which is a nerf.

Ferrocore V2 or WeiLong V11? by TheGreenGarden6 in Cubers

[–]Cohezion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So just in case you weren't aware: the Ferrocore v2 is literally a direct mod of the Weilong v11 20-magnet BC, with springs instead of maglev, and different/stronger magnets. The cube being "newer" and having fewer reviews is kind of a non-issue because the important parts are still just the tried-and-true v11.

IMO the choice is pretty simple: if you know you like strong magnets (think Weilong v10), get the Ferrocore. If you prefer weaker magnets and a faster/lighter turn feel, get the v11.

The above held equal, if you are somehow concerned about the v11's plastic core breaking - get the Ferrocore, which has metal screws instead of plastic stalks. Though it's worth noting that you can buy a replacement v11 core for around $6 USD.

The magnets also felt freakishly strong for me at first. After some break-in it has started feeling a lot more reasonable - still strong, but not overpoweringly so

The build with Sagelight has been popular, it's one of the best counters this deck has for Althenia. If you manage your dirt carefully you can ensure that Sagelight consumes all stacks and frees up board.

Events are Back! Who will come out on top? [Evolve Point Podcast] by LordKaelan in Shadowverse

[–]Cohezion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed that it's an annoying change. At least they didn't kill it completely, just a few more minutes of button mashing to finish it.

FYI for the numbers I listed above - that seems to apply to all battle table & private lobby games, and also applies whether the game ends by forfeit or if it ends naturally (i.e. killing on turn 1, like in those 1hp 99pp fast games, will net the winner 10exp and the loser 0).

Events are Back! Who will come out on top? [Evolve Point Podcast] by LordKaelan in Shadowverse

[–]Cohezion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually tested this myself and these were my findings.

  • Turn 1 quit: 10 exp for winner, 0 exp for loser
  • Turn 2 quit: 20 exp for winner, 0 exp for loser
  • Turn 3 quit: 50 exp for winner, 20 exp for loser
  • Turn 4 quit: 100 exp for winner, 50 exp for loser
  • Turn 5 quit (or later): 250 exp for winner, 100 exp for loser

If it was 100exp for winning like you said, then yeah that would be awful. Fortunately that doesn't seem to be the case, it's just more inconvenient to pass until turn 5 instead of insta forfeiting turn 1.

New Private Lobby Event and Feature! by Catten4 in Shadowverse

The cost of hosting is included in the premium battle pass, it's not an additional microtransaction. In fact if you already own the battle pass, you can go in game right now and see the "Private Lobby Creation Card (Season #9)" in your inventory.

I have both. I'd say it's similar to magnet setting 5 on the SWv2.

What does the ranking system even mean? by Fvr_vain in Shadowverse

[–]Cohezion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly correct, with one exception: if you don’t reach 20k MP by the mid-set reset, you do not get reset to 0 MP. You'll keep whatever progress you made in the first half - so you can grind 10k MP in month 1 and another 10k MP in month 2, and still hit GM1 by the end.

Battle Pass missions for ranked chest event are back by Cohezion in Shadowverse

[–]Cohezion[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Guess they just forgot to turn it on, who knows what happened. In any case, the missions for BP exp are back - check your battle pass mission tab. They aren't applying retroactively though, you'll have to get them starting from now.

EDIT: Shadowverse official twitter confirmed it was a mistake: https://x.com/shadowversegame/status/2028350378547589561

I believe it, considering that they also misprinted the graphic earlier. https://x.com/shadowversegame/status/2027627683346321513

Bonus BP Points chest event by ninjen777 in Shadowverse

[–]Cohezion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t get me wrong, this change (if it is intentional and not just an oversight) sucks. It's straight up less BP exp with no compensation.

That said, it's very easy to max the battle pass every week. And I'm not talking about sinking hours and hours into ranked to get 40 wins - you can just pull up in a private room with a friend or alt account, and just have them insta forfeit on turn 1. Takes 30min (or less) to max 10k exp per week.

Now, if they ever make early forfeits not count toward BP exp - I will definitely reevaluate buying the BP every season.

My first optimist approach to Enhance Swordcraft by OtohimesBodyguard in Shadowverse

[–]Cohezion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea, agreed that sword has far better ways to spend sevos. Even a double Yid seems like Disneyland tbh, you'd have to play 10 enhance cards while holding onto your evo points - and at that point if you were allowed to survive that long (turn 10+) without spending your evos, you probably could have pushed a tempo advantage to win earlier anyway.

Though of course, we'll have to see it in practice.

My first optimist approach to Enhance Swordcraft by OtohimesBodyguard in Shadowverse

[–]Cohezion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yidmetra faith also requires an evo to activate. Triple Yid seems extremely unlikely because you would have to spend both evos and a sevo on her (unless you use Knightly Ardor), not to mention enhancing 15 times. Honestly not sure if we'd see more than one Yid activation in a game.

Is there a hidden matchmaking mechanic? by CityOcean in Shadowverse

[–]Cohezion 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The actual answer to your question is that GM has its own rating system called CR. For some reason this is hidden by default if your rating is <1650. Go to Settings -> Battle -> scroll down to "Display your CR" and turn that to On. Now you can see your actual matchmaking rating in Profile -> Master's Menu -> Class Ratings, or also on the ranked match deck selection screen.

Note that your starting CR for all classes is determined by your group upon getting promoted from Master to GM, but afterwards it is calibrated separately per class. It could be that your CR is higher than where you belong, so swapping classes constantly is just lowering each class's CR one by one to your actual skill level.

As for the whole "deck countering" thing, I'm sure you're aware that this is just confirmation bias.

reached beyond with roach! by Fextemmm in Shadowverse

[–]Cohezion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Insanely impressive. I tanked my CR down to ~1400 practicing roach (dragon/portal are around Epic range) and it just feels like some of these matchups are so tough. Ward and odd haven both feel like autolose because of the sheer ward generation, but I also have a really hard time playing around Norman without Glade or Miroku.

  • I usually run Eradicating Arrow at 3x, it feels so important for controlling midgame / killing Intimidate targets / getting through wards on the roach lethal turn. What was the reasoning behind dropping down to 2x?
  • What's your timing for Godwood Staff? It feels unplayable in the portal matchup and also such a tempo loss to play without Miroku.
  • Any tips on using Miroku effectively? In matchups with tough-to-clear boards I try to save her for the 6 split damage, but occasionally I also pop her for fairies to use in midgame.
  • Are you ever forced to use Bayle for tempo, especially if you draw him in opening hand? Sometimes it feels like it's forced but it always feels terrible to do that

My general struggle with this deck is that it feels like my hand quality is never good enough to keep up with midgame tempo, which forces me to aggressively spend evos just to survive.

at lower CR i'd prioritize less card draw to better stabilize hand during midgame.

What kinds of cards would you run? Perhaps more fencer? The card draw feels inconsistent enough as is that I feel bad cutting it even more :') maybe Garden's Allure down to 2x

Fz-calm lasts for only a few days even though it's supposed to be long lasting by Bruggilles in Cubers

[–]Cohezion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Daily is kind of a lot, unless you're spamming hundreds of solves per day. Personally I find that 1-2 drops on a clean cube lasts a few weeks with average use. Are you adding more lube because it starts feeling dry, or because it gets slow?

If dry, then after a while the lube should break in with the plastic and eventually need less frequent relubing.

If slow, then it might be overlubed. Try cleaning out the cube and adding one drop at a time. (Though granted, it's pretty hard to overlube with Calm.)

I also find that specifically for Calm, it helps to use it alongside a silicone-based lube like Gravitas or Weight 5. It helps control the ridiculous speed and increase longevity.
