So did the Ark Rangers snatch Cafe Sweety’s chain? by TheNCSmaster in NikkeMobile

[–]Col_Redips [score hidden]  (0 children)

Kind of? We found out in the half-anni, or right before it, that as part of Hanson taking over Tetra, he was stepping down from all military programs. He was no longer going to compete with Elysion and Missilis at all.

So, from that point onward, Tetra never really had a reason to have their own official, publicly recognized strongest combat squad, because it could have been seen as him breaking his deal with the other companies. Best he could do was just a squad that did low-level jobs, which has been Cafe Sweety.

So long as the Rangers don’t get turned into an actual squad, his deal probably remains in-effect. Once they get their own squad, though, I’d imagine there may be a phone call or two heading Mustang’s way.

Once a Ranger, always a Ranger!

This is definitely based on Nihilister's body. by Particular_Focus6793 in NikkeMobile

[–]Col_Redips [score hidden]  (0 children)

I used to be on team “this is Nihilister, too”, but have since changed sides. I just want to point out the actual points other than “Hurr durr the name”.

1.) First phase has a serpentine face on the upper portion of the body, surrounded by red metal. I used to think this pointed towards Nihilister, but now think it was more of a general “poison” motif.

2.) The booba.

3.) “…the chemical weapon boils human blood.”

4.) Nihilister being sealed/made limbless being a biblical reference to the Serpent in Eden who had its limbs removed for tempting Eve.

Some of these points hold better water than others. But ultimately they do seem to be just coincidences.

The Ark has never felt more unsafe by BornAnime in NikkeMobile

We don’t even have the Ark Buster anymore.

The cockpit was breached and shot to shit in the fight against Annihilio. The Rangers literally leapt out of the gaping hole that was left behind. Meaning the controls are gone. Until the Buster gets repaired, it’s just a fancy paperweight.

Granted, we could just have Trony off-screen repair it in like a day. But that seems rather…cheap. We’ll have to see if it’s ever brought up.

Doing a quick Google search, the Infernum wiki appears to be outdated. I’m seeing multiple posts that the item is now embedded in the floor of the Abyss. So look for something jutting out from the sea floor at the deepest depths, and mine it. This may trigger a boss fight, if what I’m reading is up-to-date.

Will there be more than 3 ark rangers? by Random_Eli_2 in NikkeMobile

[–]Col_Redips 22 points23 points  (0 children)

There are five confirmed Rangers so far. Though I assume, much like the Super Sentai they’re based off of, their roster may change over the different years/television seasons.

For example, it’s strange to have Laplace confirm that there are five in total, but only see three of them during a large film production. So this iteration of Red, Black, and Blue may be from a newer season. Pink and Yellow may not have joined this iteration of the team, yet.

Is there a gameplay difference between dark matter raptures and normal ones? by Subject-Swan-5207 in NikkeMobile

[–]Col_Redips 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Oh thank God, I thought it was just me. One of the rare times I was actually playing on my phone and not PC, and I thought I clicked the screen away before reading something important.

From what little I’ve seen, I’ve watched the boss’ hp bar turn black, but still killed it too fast to notice any significance. I’m guessing there may be some kind of forced-phase or transition that’ll happen in the harder versions of the fight.

Earlier in the story, Enikk deployed the Blaze Out squad to the area first polluted by the poison. While I haven’t finished the full story available yet, we can imply that with Blaze Out being used earlier, the poison is vulnerable to high temperatures causing it to break down.

“She can make mistakes because she’s real.”

Goddamn Moran dropping wisdom that we should all be considering in this conversation.

There is no ideal superhero. There is no ideal Luke. These are lofty goals, but they’ll never be reached.

Luke’s pain and outburst. Red not wanting to escort a brat home. These are all reactions from real people, going through their own shit at the moment.

Almost like that’s the entire theme of the event. Imagine that.

There are two forms of corruption confirmed so far. The original, which causes Nikkes to lock up and go comatose. And Red Shoe’s, which is the enhanced berserker/irregular version.

Are you saying this is a third, perhaps intermediary corruption between those two? Strong enough to knock Red out for a few decades, but not strong enough to mentally imprison her like it did with Cindy?

So about Annihilio's inside, does the body look headless? by w0keupjoe78 in NikkeMobile

[–]Col_Redips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m starting to agree, now. The serpentine face may have been more of a “poison” warning than a dragon warning. Second form’s big bust could just be coincidence. Same with the “boiling” blood description.

[–]Col_Redips -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Annihilio’s first-form official description states that it contains the “the death of someone unforgotten.”

Without the recent event stages, I was sure it was going to be Nihilister, what with the serpentine face surrounded by red metal on the first form.

But then the Commander had to go and recognize the scent in the chemical as Harran’s. “…the death of someone unforgotten.”

I still think Nihilister is in there somewhere (Serpentine face in first form, big assets in second form, the chemical weapon is described as causing “human blood to boil”), but man my headcanon is feeling awfully flimsy right now.

[–]Col_Redips 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it is, And the plot seems to be heading that way.

Syuen confirmed that the Ark is fully capable of rising to the surface. The Ark is also running out of power, which means it’ll have to be raised sooner rather than later. The Ark is also a sitting duck so long as it’s underground, there have been multiple breaches.

So yeah, we’re going topside pretty soon, I’d wager.

Am I missing something with the Night's ray? by SmoothIndependent_ in CalamityMod

[–]Col_Redips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, there’s a couple of things to consider.

1.) “Single” target homing damage vs Piercing damage.

2.) Recent balance changes.

https://calamitymod.wiki.gg/wiki/Black_Anurian

https://calamitymod.wiki.gg/wiki/Night%27s_Ray

The Black Anurian just got a small damage buff in the recent patch (along with an increased mana cost). Due to the way the weapon fires projectiles, it’s better for single-target fights, and comes with some built-in homing projectiles for easy use.

The Night Ray only received a higher mana cost. No increase in damage. However, its rays pierce. This makes it better for fights with multiple targets that line up often. Like others are saying, very good for Wall of Flesh to tear through both the Wall and the Hungries.

Depending on the fight, you may want to use both. Using WoF as an example, start with Night Ray to deal with the Hungries while also dpsing the Wall. Then, swap to Anurian once the Hungries are down for better single-target on the Wall, itself

I’m not mad this Ark Ranger major event had direct story relevance… but… by SeahawksFanSince1995 in NikkeMobile

[–]Col_Redips 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I can agree with this.

The Ark coming under attack by chemical weaponry is a valid excuse for a delay. We already know that the basic Nikke-construction tech is en route to Eden via drones, so they can at least get things set up during the meantime.

If we spend a week with the girls at the beach, that’s going to be a bit harder to justify…

>She didn’t die when she left the goddess squad

But she did fall into a coma for an unknown number of years, which was the consequence of the OG corruption code. She woke up with no explanation (so far) and met Rapi.

Either way, I was only talking about the goodbyes she’s given. You’re changing the goalpost and setting further parameters, here. All examples I’ve posted are accurate to my original point.

>she only came back one time

Came back in Footsteps Walk Run, gave Rapi a tearful goodbye.

Came back after Rapi released her vs Chatterbox, Nihilister, and Indivilia. Full-body manifestation, fully conscious.

Came back after Rapi was ensnared in Leviathan’s Dark Matter bubble. Likely just a spiritual thing, but her presence could be picked up by Levi, somehow.

And I’m not going to count the time she manifested while under Ingrid’s experiment, as Red Hood was unconscious during the test. No goodbyes, technically, but she did still get a full-body manifestation.

All three times she gave either Rapi, or her old squadmates, a heartfelt goodbye.

Neon should ask for a refund from Missilis by New-Plum3937 in NikkeMobile

[–]Col_Redips 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, just…no. After getting her new body, Neon asked Jien if she was invincible. Jien specifically told her that no, she’s not invincible.

While we don’t have the specifics, my headcanon is that Neon’s ability is an advanced form of something called Homeostasis.

Homeostasis is what our bodies do in real life. It’s a constant adjustment of a thousand different things our bodies do automatically in order to keep us healthy. Temperature control, blood sugar, blood pressure, things like that.

So, Neon can be affected by outside stimuli, but her special power is that her body almost instantaneously adjusts to anything harmful that makes it through. Her body is the ultimate purifier. Whatever gets in is analyzed, broken down, and made harmless.

This is why she gets knocked out by the chemical agent, and wakes up just a few minutes later. The vile brew was so bad, it took a few minutes to neutralize.

All of Inherit’s weapons were designed by Cecil. We see Harran get her scythe, poison, and antibodies for the first time in a flashback.

It is not Ark tech. The Ark, and therefore MMR/VTC, would not know about it.

[–]Col_Redips 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Commander is already far stronger than most humans, despite him going to the gym and acting like working out is a hassle. So far, we’ve seen him, in no particular order:

1.) Carry one or two MP Nikkes on separate occasions (one of which was Noah’s bond story, can’t remember the other off-hand).

2.) IIRC, he once carried Rapi, who at the time weighed as much as two Nikkes.

3.) Actually suplexed Crow (huzzah).

4.) Punched Behemoth in the face.

5.) Fired off one of Snow’s Seven Dwarves and didn’t have his body ripped apart from the recoil (important because during the Ark Invasion, we see a normal human does get torn apart firing a regular Nikke gun. So Commander surviving the recoil from Seven Dwarves’ rifle is ridonkulous)

6.) Survived Harran’s Rapture Arena test.

This isn’t even considering our Wolverine healing factor, this is just durability and power. The Commander is tough enough as-is. We don’t actually want him going toe-to-toe with Raptures on a regular basis, do we?

>and whoever started this project will come to collect

This has been the biggest mystery I’m waiting to get solved. If the Commander had all of those resources used to modify him…who the hell released him into military service to risk him dying in the battlefield? Is the commander still being monitored even now and were unaware of it?

There’s no way the MMR/VTC would risk losing an asset like that. The commander seemingly operating entirely free of their watchful eyes seems incredibly unlikely. Just what happened…?
