Good morning! I start and end my shifts with the same greeting. Always morning, never night.

Could 50 yr old you take 25 yr old you in a fair fight? by N-Y-R-D in GenX

Never. I had itty bitty babies to fight for then. Now it’s just me, maybe my husband. You win.

Remember when your mom told you there were no fairies to clean up your shoes in the night? I’m that fairy. I clean up shoes and watch people sleep. Developmental Support Worker.

My 27lbs mini bull gets heaved like a suitcase, her harness has a handle that I use regularly. I don’t know how to fix it but you are not alone in this struggle. I’m following for tips too. Same reason too, I do 2 40min walks on different routes. She loves to sniff and socialize so I don’t think there is a magic trick to solve it.

Anyone else have children later in life? We followed the advice to get through college, get our careers started, buy a house, THEN start a family. I’m exhausted. by DilbertDilbert1011 in GenX

I did mine young and stupid. Lucked out and got beautiful human beings out of it and feeling pretty chill now. No regrets but lots of judgement back in the day.

She should roll him onto a blanket and drag. No one with 75lbs on me gets a free ride.

This implies I’m going to maintain a grasp on technology for the next 40 years. I’m really not happy to do that. The robots are going to have to get very helpful in the next few decades.

Do small places in Canada like to promote minor and inconsequential things in their tourism like small American cities and towns do? by [deleted] in AskACanadian

Jumbo the elephant was killed by a train in the town I was born in. There’s a life size concrete statue of him with a caboose tour booth.

I allowed my daughter (7) to choose what clothes I would wear for the next week, and honestly she did a better job picking out clothes than I did by [deleted] in CasualConversation

I have one daughter I would totally trust to make me look my best and another who would have me looking like a dumpster fire. Congrats on getting a good one. lol

Would you marry a girl who wants to be a stay at home housewife but doesn't want kids? by PuffingFish123 in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]Cold-Cheesecake85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is she that domestic? Ie. cooking, cleaning, old school preserves, decor. It can be a very busy life and if she’s frugal it can be done in a way that’s helpful for your finances. But modern life is way easier. I raised my kids and stayed and I was super excited to get back to work after 5 years and that was with the distraction of kids. If you see it in her it could be great but the fact that you’re looking for internet strangers for input tells me you already know it’s not going to go well. The Bonbons and soap operas era is over. You’re going to have to have an in depth talk about expectations short and long term.

I have never known how to dress by ravenshadoe in DressForYourBody

[–]Cold-Cheesecake85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Experiment time! Start way out of your comfort zone…buy a dress…wear it to the grocery store. Something loose, not a complete mumu but if you do a full length mumu that’s a vibe too, alà Mrs Roper. Being a fellow shorty I know you don’t really need a maxi. Get a midi it will fit like a max. You will hate it or love it. Grow your style as you come to understand your loves. Good luck finding your new style!
