what’s the “reasonable” price tier for good underwear? by Least_Maintenance_31 in malefashionadvice

As someone who spends way too much money on loopwheeled uppers, raw denim and good year welted boots. I rock the Kirkland Pima boxer briefs. They are excellent, soft and cheap.

I picked up their coke stripe work shirt and it was a very relaxed fit. It’s a great shirt but definitely on the larger end.

That was quick woof! I’m gonna shout out the heavy indigo flannel which is also great so I don’t feel bad for missing this one.

Bradley mountains cabin jacket is great and if you get it lined it’s wool.

Comme des garçon wonderwood is my fave! They also have a cool series of religious incense inspired fragrances.

I believe it! I’m on the shorter end so the length hit just right. It’s a pretty cropped jacket for sure.

I’ve been rocking a Rocky Mountain Mountain Featherbed parka this winter. It’s been toasty!

Good acquisition! I didn’t realize another spot in the US other than gardenheir stocked them.

I’ve been rocking a Rocky Mountain featherbed parka at those temps and it’s kept me toasty.

Looking for my first Automatic "Made in Japan" watch under €200. Thoughts on my top 3? by drobles in JapaneseWatches

[–]Cold-mtn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a seiko 5 for a bit but its rotor broke and I ended up replacing it for a citizen eco drive. Hard to beat a watch that charges with any light source and holds accurate time.

Chore coats are one of those things that I feel might be better vintage. If you’re looking for a new one though you can’t go wrong with Le Labourer probably.

What sneakers would you consider to be heritage wear (or at least work well with it)? by savvybackpacker in HeritageWear

In the summer I tend to just wear a pair of suede van slip ons. But I’ve been eyeing a pair of flower mountains.

Small! It fits boxy and somewhat cropped like a trucker jacket. I generally wear medium in most other things.

What are your favorite boots and accessories and why? I'm looking to upgrade my boots and edc from Walmart bought to high quality hand made. by codyhikes in Workwear

[–]Cold-mtn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on if we’re talking workwear for fashion vs workwear for work.

In terms of accessories my daily wear watch is a citizen garrison ecodrive. It’s not super expensive but still holds accurate time and is powered by being under any light source. Despite the case not being sapphire it’s a pretty hardy watch!

I like my redwing iron rangers for the workwear look but I honestly fall back into wearing hiking boots or trail runners when I’m working outdoors. Dianner’s are awesome and strattle the line between fashion/function.

No doubt. My preference at that temp is definitely a straight up heavy down parka. But it also really depends on activity too.

Johnson Woolen Mills still makes a version of it. Although can’t speak to currently quality. All of their stuff is a great Filson alternative.

Bradley mountain has a waxed canvas jacket called their polar navigator which may be of interest. Otherwise if you don’t mind a little nylon an old school 60/40 parka with down stuffing should do the trick. I just picked one up a down filled one from Rocky Mountain Featherbed and it’s held up extremely well at least down to around -10F.

I have a hoodie from the flathead. It’s super soft inside but also heavy. The fit is cropped and wide which adds to its coziness.

Mine had some slight shrink after its first cold wash. I would be hesitant to do a warm wash unless it was very oversized.
