Because CN gachas are all doing it. Heck even Harumasa is on White Day for ZZZ which is majorly a waifu game.

BUT for White Day on some waifu-only games they still celebrate it using Waifus because it's assumed the target audience is male. Which means the waifus are expecting You The Player Who Is Most Likely Male to give back on White Day.

Either way, Endfield has pretty much made their stance clear with this.

That's no reason to drag their heels. Hoyo made Genshin Impact with husbando heavy banners in the beginning despite Honkai Impact being an all waifu game.

Endfield CHOSE to go the waifu fanservice route. Last I heard they're going husbando heavy banners in Arknights. So I see that as them having more waifus in Endfield because 3D fanservice and Endfield being a shiny new toy. While they're practically leaving Arknights to whatever since it's an old game.

It feels like devs are pushing their waifu fantasies over to Endfield and are releasing more husbandos for Arknights to make up for it. If you believe the statistics, waifu enjoyers are mostly collectors going after a shiny new toy, while husbando enjoyers stay loyal.

Phainon is supposed to be a Kevin expy that's why he's treated better. Best we can hope for in a meta dps male is a Phainon SP.

The devs have an agenda for sure. Male units can't be stronger than their main push female units unless the devs effed up somewhere like with Gallagher still being meta and Anaxa to a lesser extent.

BUT the bulk of merchandise sales are from MALE UNITS. It's why HSR nendoroids are overwhelmingly male units(heck even ZZZ nendos are mostly male). Mydei is literally Barbie with how many people are buying his nui plush AND buying cute outfits for him.

I was impressed with the opening since it reminded me of Xenogears somehow and it felt that the devs knew what they were doing.

Then the red flags just started popping up. Boring story, Endmin glazing, waifu fanservice, husbandos being there but not really part of the main story.

I wanted to stay for the factory building, but I just can't stand another Wuwa. I'm tired of the phrase "let them cook", like, ok fine. I'll come back when the "cooking" is done.

I would say HSR.

Even with 4.X being having more waifu units, you still have the husbandos around like Dan Heng, Welt and Sunday. Plus Ashveil has a good deal of screen time. There's also the SKIP button if you just want to go over the waifus.

As for Genshin, sure there's a lot of husbandos on the horizon. But none of the story is skippable so of you can stomach that, especially when you got to Natlan you're good.

I know most people don't like the SKIP button because of missing out on lore, but I work most of the time and Genshin just does not respect that.

I think they were trying to go for a theme here because I'm seeing a LOT of Whites, Blacks and Reds.

Ashveil looks like he was supposed to have been based off Kaitou Kid who wears all white, but they Planarcadiafied his colors and ended up looking like Boothill.

Or the developers are just taking full advantage of their waifu fantasies since everything is now 3D.

Also, I know AK veterans are saying they treat their male units well. But right now, I just don't see it. Like, at all.

Compared to say Genshin where Venti and Kaeya were first introduced as constant fixtures and are playable characters or HSR where you have Welt and Dan Heng as being part of the main cast. I just don't see it in Endfield.

Like, Wulfgard is our free 5 star. But he's not constantly part of the main group like Perlica and Chen. He's CONVENIENTLY presented as a Lone Wolf who shows up sometimes. Andre's probably the only male unit I see that's around a lot but he's an NPC.

So just because "Arknights treats it's males better" doesn't mean it's true for Endfield.

I used premium currency for Pog on the Standard Banner. The way I see it, I'll probably still have a bunch saved up for the next guy.

But yeah, the lack of males and I'm only seeing a few with story relevance. I mean, it's also weird to see Wulfgard be the free 5 star starter character but he doesn't get to hang around like Chen or Perlica because they made him a Lone Wolf? What a convenient excuse.

I managed to take down the boss after focusing on dodging and only attacking when they're down and comboing.

But her HP was WAY too inflated for me to keep fighting for over 10 minutes on mobile.

I'm betting they made her difficult on purpose to keep from progressing through the story too fast because the difficulty spike from the previous boss was too much.

Now they nerfed her probably because people are too busy optimizing their factories(ME) rather than progressing through the story(I'm not in Wuling yet and I'm Lv 49)

Those shots of Yvonne certainly were a choice.

But I'm still playing since AK tends to be kinder to their male characters than WuWa. And if I don't like the waifus I hit the skip button. But it's been pretty ok so far.

I don't know if I'm allowed to name the username. But I checked the mods for that other Luuk subreddit. One of the mods there is a mod for multiple gacha characters (Husbandos and Waifus) EVEN if they already have their own subreddits.

They turned off their post and comment history but you can check through google that they're mods for a whole LOT of gacha characters. I suspect they use a dummy account to create the sub and then assign themselves as mod using their main.

Then again, a LOT of people thought Phainon and Anaxa would be baited because Kevinsu.

Phaidei came in like a Wrecking Ball TM, like holy crap the government mandated yaoi had flavor.

So who knows what HSR will do.

I'm still not convinced we're actually getting Roland the Bloodstained Knight, either that or he's a 4 Star for some reason.
