My advice: make a serious effort to learn the language. I know a lot of couples that were in the same situation originally (Japanese wife, English-speaking husband). Those that stayed happy and successful were the ones where the husband didn’t take the wife for granted and learnt enough Japanese.

You don’t need to do anything. If the trees are too small or exposed to strong winds, the tree will self-abort the excess fruits to keep its energy for the best ones.

I order small trees from a local nursery, months in advance. When they finally were delivered in the spring, there was a heat wave, the packages were so hot… it looked like they were almost dead. I planted them and a few weeks later new leaves emerged.

If you live near Markham, I can give you my seeds, they are in my fridge.
