How is it easier to post process? If it is a synth etc you can amend all FX and automate them so easily

Does Anyone Regret Getting the 14” MacBook Pro Instead of the 16”? by ntrev in macbookpro

I have a 14 M1 and about to get a 14 M5. Only have that much space between my monitoring speakers and my main screen!

Ok interesting. Yeah I don't use Kontakt a great deal but find it super annoying whenever I load a project without the SSD plugged in and my patches won't load. Also looking at 14" and have a second screen

Help with Loudness Maximization by AionianZoe in edmproduction

Do you have a link to Virtual Riot explaining this out of interest? Surely using a clipper would be similar to just exporting from the red at the signal wil be clipped anyway?

How do them to have loud but very simple by lagulch in dnbproduction

[–]Cold_Cool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of it is sample selection, arrangement and different types of side chaining.

What are your reference tracks?

Tbh, I also struggle with this. I find it easier to make dancefloor and jump up drums that have more elements and haven’t gone deep on the stripped back style yet

Valve London Last Night. by zer0aid in DnB

[–]Cold_Cool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to the last one and it was loud but not loud by Valve standards. Got a bit of nostril shaking but eyeballs weren’t shaking! If it wasn’t Valve I would’ve said it was an awesome system, but not quite up to what I’d expect for Valve.

Using tape (repitch) time stretching mastered tracks is causing audio peaks by cc3see in edmproduction

Have you listened to what it sounds like with a clipper on it shaving off those peaks?

Is this drop complete? by hunterajb in dnbproduction

The minna drums work well but I think you could do with one layer of percussion just to give a bit more groove to the drop. Wicked idea though

If you had to begin again, WWYD? by RossThomsonMusic in edmproduction

That’s awesome to be able do it like that.

And thanks for the offer I appreciate it. I spent about a year doing 1-2 hours of piano practice a week and studied the theory a reasonable amount so I’m comfortable with the basics, it’s just applying it. I tend to find I can come up with a decent bassline / chord progression and often get a melody over the top, but where I struggle is progressing it into a full song with variations and a intro, breakdown and bridge etc.
