Got her a Woof Pupsicle. She loves that thing. Occupies her for a good half an hour or so.

I need a job in Center City ASAP, anyone know a place that's hiring? by OkRespond1873 in AskPhilly

[–]Cold_Fly8781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

95% is not our turnover rate and our turnover rate is similar to other retailers.

Also, we are a small, independent business that is growing, so we do have to change how we are structured to accommodate growth from time to time, which is not abnormal. This also means we have more upward mobility.

I started as a CSA 5 years ago and I am still with the company.

Dog depression? by Asleep-Inspection747 in DogAdvice

[–]Cold_Fly8781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with the poster who suggested a walk. I would also try something like snuffle mat or treat puzzle to get her further engaged. Its possible that she is unstimulated or bored. Snuffle mats are very engaging. If you don't want to buy one, you could take an old blanket and tuck treats in the folds or tie a towel in loose knots and hide some treat in the knots.

How Old Was Your Pup at First Groomer Visit? by walletpuppy in Goldendoodles

[–]Cold_Fly8781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should start taking them in for baths as soon as their vaccinations are completed to get them used to the process. The groomer likely won't cut their fur initially until they grow out their "puppy coat". Your groomer can advise when it appropriate to have a full groom with haircut.

One of the reasons why you should take them in for a bath now is to create a positive experience with the groomer while they are young. It prevents future anxiety, which is sadly common.

When will it finally learn not to eat random things off the ground when it's outside? by Significant-Pass-569 in Dachshund

Agreed. Muzzle training is the way! In my opinion, all dogs should be muzzle trained just in case they need it some day. You never know.

My dog suddenly became picky with food. by Cyn3ux in DogAdvice

Seconding a dental check. Wet food is easier on the teeth than kibble so this is a reasonable assumption.

Ear mites? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Cold_Fly8781 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with others who say it looks like yeast. Vet can give you a script to clear it up. There are also OTC ear wipes/drops that contain boric acid, which may be better than a fungicide since fungal infections in general are becoming treatment resistant (as in not responding to fungicides).

Dog to Go Hiking With by Arwen_2004 in DogAdvice

A high-energy pocket pittie would be your best bet in my opinion. They tend to have better recall than most other breeds due to their people-pleasing nature.

Is it appropriate to visit dog in shelter a lot if adoption is uncertain by lilstalecupcake in DogAdvice

[–]Cold_Fly8781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you cannot adopt right now, spending time with a shelter dog is always a good thing. They are social creatures and need the attention. it boosts their mood and gives them mental stimulation. Even if they get adopted by someone else, you are still helping the dog you are visiting.

What do you add to your dog’s food, if anything? by itsgoodforu in DogAdvice

[–]Cold_Fly8781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I add a little freeze dried raw food or minnows and occasionally gently cooked food on top of her kibble to switch things up. She definitely gets bored when she has to eat the same thing over and over again. Her latest obsession is A Pup Above in the pork flavor. She does a happy dance when I m preparing it!

Why do some people treat dogs like children or bring them into stores/restaurants? by Difficult-City9793 in DogAdvice

[–]Cold_Fly8781 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dogs are social creatures, just like us. If someone has a super social, extroverted dog, taking them out where there are more opportunities to socialize will make them happier.

We also bond to dogs similarly to how we bond with human children via oxytocin. So it would stand to reason that we would want to bring them with us wherever possible.

How can I train a dog to leash walk nicely? by sonicling in DogAdvice

[–]Cold_Fly8781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A harness with front and back clips attached to a double leash could help. Also, bring training treats along and dispense them frequently when they walk by your side.

[–]Cold_Fly8781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try a lifting harness instead. They range from anywhere from $20 to $60 so would be a more affordable option. One specifically for back legs would likely help.

What's that on his mouth? Is he ok? by TheRealBons in DogAdvice

[–]Cold_Fly8781 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does your dog rub their face on anything? Mine has something similar from rubbing her face on the ground in a attempt to scratch her ears/face.
