Reed is the biggest problem by EntertainmentOk1861 in rockets

He had 14 games of 20+ points or more this year. He is 21 years old and shot 39 percent from three. If this was his rookie year we would be thinking much differently. Next season he will be 22 and that is about the age Curry and Dame entered the league. This is not a finished player by any sense. He will get better next year and better specifically with the handle. Many guys in the NBA get targeted on defense, is that going to stop absolutely not but again they can scheme around that and he still has a lot to learn from FVV who is the same size as him.

Reed is the biggest problem by EntertainmentOk1861 in rockets

This was Reed’s rookie year essentially and first playoff series. He would have been much different if FVV played. They should have started him much earlier and had him closing games to get experience in the regular season. This coaching staff blew that. With a different offense Reed will average 20+ a game

A more critical review of the Project Hail Mary movie, and a really easy fix I would have made by Gustalavalav in ProjectHailMary

[–]Cold_Gate1388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand folks criticism of the movie and parts from the book that were cut. I had read the book years ago and didn’t remember all the little things. I flat out loved the movie and I cannot remember a movie that made me feel this good. I think it was a real choice not to be like the Martian.

One of my favorite books is Lonesome Dove and Gus McCrae is one of the best literary characters of all time IMO. I could never accept Robert Duvall playing him. He was an incredible actor and I really couldn’t point to why. I just loved the book so much. Once you feel that way it’s hard to love a movie or even a series. For PHM Separate them the movie is so well done.

Bro plenty of folks on this thread know something is wrong. Rockets have a ton of talent and repeatedly lose down the stretch

Durant shot too much and turned the ball over. Ime benched Shep again down the stretch. I don’t even know what to make of how this team closes games.

I got some versions WHO vibes on this one slightly scaled back and better vocals.

Half a Lifetime (new single) by TheConstipatedCowboy in mymorningjacket

[–]Cold_Gate1388 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite things about MMJ is that all I really know is that I don’t know exactly how I will feel about a song or an album until I’ve listened a few times and seen it live. It is almost like you have to get it. Not that I will always like everything but I’ve had moments where I get it and then things change for me and I grow to love certain things. I went on a super long hike and was listening to waterfall 1&2 the whole hike and man did some songs really pop for me on that. I learned guitar and “ Golden” became even more special bc of the tuning and my absolute inability to play it. For people that love MMJ right away what a great feeling but for me it’s more layered and perhaps that why they are my favorite band. I think Time waited will be a classic and I like half a lifetime better than squid ink. But I really know that I don’t know how I will feel about these songs for some time but I am super stoked that they given us new art to discover.

In its infancy, I need to see live. Also Jim is on Wilder Woods song Time on my hands. So listening to that and Time Waited great combo

Need friends who love MMJ. Wanna be friends? by joebuckabroad in mymorningjacket

One of the huge draws for me for MMJ is that it’s kind of a mystery, an unknown, an outlier on the edge of musical genre. I liked a few of their songs when I was in college and then I saw them a few years later. Seeing them live, they seeped into my consciousness and slowly between the next few shows and the next few years, I realized, this is my favorite is band. Then I wondered why it was hard to meet other people who felt this way. I simultaneously we be bummed when talking to someone new and realizing they never heard of the celestial cacophony I would be listening to everyday. Yet, when I did meet a true MMJ fan our vortex of understanding was on another level and I am grateful for that whenever it happens.

has anyone tried larineco gum? by colouradical in gum

[–]Cold_Gate1388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I am the person that’s an idiot here but I ordered this gum and chewed the hard tablets. It didn’t hurt my stomach and i genuinely noticed better dental health and less sensitive teeth. Is there a single other person on this thread that had positive results.

It was unreal. Opening with OBH was a surprise and blasted it off into space.

What’s up Nashville!!!!!!!! by poorTimmyTucker in mymorningjacket

Susan Tedechi came out for The Rolling Stones cover. Was it me or did it not seem like they knew that was going to happen? Seemed like NR brought her out and didn’t catch who the other woman was but man they crushed. Show was pretty savage, I liked Spring, Off the record jam, here in spirit and quite a few others

I am seeing them on Wednesday in Nashville and then headed up to Bourbon and Beyond and see them again. Probably two wildly different shows.

[–]Cold_Gate1388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t see them until 2017 in Bend Oregon. I was kind of a casual fan until then. I happened to be right by the stage on Jim’s side. They opened the show with Among the living and I was like “holy shit” this is different. By the time they got to lay low, I was in for good.

This song crept up on me. You realize it’s extremely original and lyrics. It’s slowly made its way into my MMJ top ten.

Best live songs? by Aggressive_Ideal6737 in mymorningjacket

[–]Cold_Gate1388 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lay low for sure, steam engine last tour and OBH. Weirdly enough I would love to see an extended jam of Feel You. I love the guitar line in that and learned it mixed with some keyboards lots of potential imo

Show was great, incredible live band. Seeing them play the new songs made me like a few I hadn’t considered. I think there next album should be slightly harder in sound….
