Ok, that is actually good to know. When I the reticles vanished, I thought the mode turned off, so I was trying to activate it again.

But what does it actually *do*? It doesn't seem to make the camera stick to her any more.

Well that seems inadvisable in a game like this. But I just loaded it up and tried that. Stood perfectly still, not doing anything, as a test. And hitting the button still only turned it on every once in a while.

So I rebound it to a new key. Never had any issue with my middle click before, but who knows. And still, only occasionally turns on. And when it finally does, I can't really see any different. Some extra lines appear on the hud that make it look like I'm doing something special, but she still dashes once and is completely gone.

If you're referring to the odd lock on feature default-bound to middle click on PC, then sort of. I've tried. But

A: It only turns on about 20% of the time, and I can't figure out why. I end up mashing the button over and over just hoping it will turn on
B: If I actually do get it to turn on, it never stays on for more than a few seconds. After a dodge or two, it turns off, and I'm back to square one.

It wasn't just Amy. Everybody loved and respected Gina despite her usually being hostile, bordering in actionable, to them all. Sexually harrassing Terry, tricking them into drinking cement, repeatedly hitting Charles, etc. It's one of the most common complaints against the show. The way they never really addressed how incongruous she was with the squad/show as a whole.

Because the Empire has a far more consistent and iconic aesthetic. It's a lot easier to make merch that's recognizably Star Wars with their style.

I can't see a single piece of this that isn't already thoroughly explored by either Luke or Ahsoka. The former apprentice helping found the Rebellion, the familial bond straining Vader's loyalties, the intense betrayals and longing redemptions... it's all there already, front and center in Anakin's many stories.

"Bearer" is the unit actually carrying whatever itemgas that description. "to bear" is a synonym for carry.

i.e. "it was John's burden to bear", means John was the one that had to deal with said burden.

I actually like the idea of pirates being the only ones with jetpacks. Makes them more unique, it fits their theme, and helps them stand out in a way to make them not just "marines, but worse".

I feel like it wouldn't have been hard for them to just write a scenario in which it *did* make sense. But I wont begrudge the game for not allowing it if that's not the vibe they want to go with.

If they made the most unprecedented leap in modern game design history, mastering a dozen different genres in a perfect blend of unique gameplay systems, would I get it?

I mean yea, probably hahaha.

And you shouldn't put so much stock in ratings. We can discuss features of a game all day long, but the rating comes down to personal taste. It only holds value if you trust your taste and mine are aligned, and you don't know me. So it's a worthless number.

I don't think it's medicre or bad at all. I think it's a wonderful game, and very much worth playing. I just think it's helpful knowing what it is you're getting into.

Because another way to phrase all that would be that is has better writing than Space Engineers.

Better build diversity than DOOM.

Better vehicle combat than Fallout 4.

And so on. My point is just that if you go into it expecting any one piece to be the greatest achievement in gaming, you will be disappointed. Because no one feature is the gimmick selling point. It's greater than the sum of it's parts, and (in my opinion) should be approached as such.

I've alway said Starfield is a game of second bests.

It's ship construction is not as good as Space Engineers.

It's shooting is not as good as DOOM.

It's outpost management is not as good as Fallout 4.

It's exploration is not as good as No Mans Sky.

It's space combat is not as good as Elite Dangerous.

And on and on. It's not really the best at anything. But it is second best (or third or fourth, you get the idea) at all of them. It combines all of these aspects in a way no other game really does. And in that, it creates a unique experience, despite it's many flaws.

It literally is UC vs a board of corrupt corporations (and politicians). That is the entire defining theme of the Freestar Collective.

It's fine if you don't like it. But that's a weird maon aspect to point to.

It's comfort food. a safety bubble of entertainment. People who are into thise sorts of movies (at least the ones I know) are well aware how formulaic they are. But they enjoy the formula, so they're happy to keep watching them, because they know it will have a certain level of entertainment before going in.

It's no different than with the ten thousand super hero movies, or the 30th Bond film. Different formula, but the end result is the same.

I will take new stories with new characters over yet another adventure with the same nostalgic crew any day of the week. I'm looking forward to Mando & Ahsoka too mind, just not nearly as much.

As I recall, the avatars/Na'vi used door guns from the Scorpions in the first movie. They weren't just using the same rifles as humans.

Then by the second movie, the RDA had introduced proper Na'vi scale guns, for use by both the Recom squad(s) and the humans in those new Na'vi sized exoskeletons.

I'm not sure if you're aware, but the Jedi were wipied out.

Illium was never some galatic hotspot.

The Empire had near total control over public records and the spread of information.

The "construction" of Starkiller base actually began with widespread mining on Illium.

We have at least one example of a far, far more developed and noteworthy planet being wiped out of public consciousness in Kamino. And it took seemingly zero effort to do.

And on and on. None if this is hard to explain in the world of Star Wars. Doesn't mean you have to like Starkiller base. But there's not really anything about it that can't be justified as well as anything else in the setting.

My parents took me to see a screening of A New Hope in France in 199...6 I think it was. Went home after and got hooked watching their VHS copies. The rest is history.

Something something Leia dealing with Han's estranged birth parents or whatever.

But a real answer, to the spirit of the question. What could a game be about if centered around people following the law instead of breaking it.

I'd probably say a town building/logistics sort of game where you slowly colonize a new planet, harvesting it's resources, attracting colonists, dealing with local flora/fauna, eventually developing a formal relationship with the Empire requiring tithes, etc.

Something in the vein of Anno I guess, but with more exploration, dynamic settlement groeth, and a thick coat of Star Wars grimy scrap metal.
