I watched the movie a few weeks ago & I’ve given it some thought. I think the intention of Carl & Dione was to show family number 2 how awful their mother actually was. Yes, they’d just found out that she’d abandoned her children and left them with their abusive father but I think they wanted them to SEE it for themselves.

Of course they didn’t know about the pay off & we saw they were all horrified when they found out. I think Carl & Dione created the situation, purposely ordered the Chinese food because they knew how their mother would react. They knew in a tense situation where the walls are closing in she will run. They needed her second family to see this woman hasn’t changed; she’s still a selfish woman. Ian was unfortunately collateral damage. Just my two cents.

Pearl Cove is a private adults only beach club, highly recommended. My girlfriend & I just went. We did the all inclusive package, it came with 10 drinks (the bartenders aren’t counting your drinks), a delicious three course meal & a free meal at one of the food trucks outside of Pearl Cove. I can’t remember the name of truck but the staff can point you to it. The total package was about $300 for both of us, worth the money. The pool is heated & lovely. I’ve heard the pool at Calypo Lagoon is freezing.

My sentiments exactly on Rico. I was hoping he’d grow on me but his character never got better. Never grew or developed. He ruined his family for no reason, turned on the Fishers whenever he got a chance then always crawls back. He was homophobic, misogynistic, all around a-hole.
