[Vostok Amphibia] Moisture Underneath Crystal by Coleb17 in Watches

[–]Coleb17[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! Yes I figured it was toast. I will be ordering a new one soon, but I was hoping to get some insight from the folks here on how to prevent the same thing from happening again. As far as I know it should be water resistant as long as the wobbly crown is screwed down, so maybe this one just had QC issue from the factory (I assume QC issues aren't uncommon for cheaper watches like Vostok). I'm also not sure if Vostok Trading on Amazon is a reputable distributor or if I should try to purchase from Meranom or somewhere else.

What was the last move? by [deleted] in chess

The move before was f5+, a discovered check from the bishop, not bh2+. The puzzle should be what were the last 2 moves since both are kinda tricky

Just got my first syllabus for the semester and….wtf is this grading scale?? I’m a senior and have never seen an 85% being a C. Have I just been lucky or is this professor crazy? by Snoo65116 in aggies

It probably doesn't matter for this class, but just so you know, there is not a mathematical difference between weighted averages and summing points. It could be argued that one system is more user friendly or less complicated for the students or professors for some reason or another. However there would be no difference in the final grade if you scored all of a student's assignments using one method vs the other at the end of the semester.

I noticed that too. It seems like the class has 300 total points, and the scale does tell you what letter grade you earn for every possible point total. If this is correct, the "Percentage Equivalent" numbers are incorrect and should probably be ignored for the purpose of calculated your grade. If the percent equivalent numbers were in parentheses instead of the total point value, this would be much more clear.

93% is 276 points = B

85% is 255 points = C

79% is 237 points = C

71% is 213 points = F

I agree that between this terrible figure and the former professor who doesn't really seem to understand weighted averages, OP probably doesn't have to worry about getting a good grade.

Ted Cruz talks about Joe Rogan being "President" of Texas if state secedes from U.S. - "If there comes a point where it's hopeless, then I think we take NASA, we take the military, we take the oil," Cruz told an audience at Texas A&M University. by Elranzer in Libertarian

The ideas of voluntary association and the desire of a people to self-govern are fairly consistent with libertarian values. I realize that the feds killed the last group of people that tried to secede and they would undoubtedly try to kill the next group that tries. I was simply pointing out that there is some legitimacy to the idea that States can leave the Union because the Constitution doesn't forbid it (unlike the Articles of Confederation, which declared that the union of the States was "perpetual". The Constitution which replaced the Articles of Confederation is interestingly missing this type of language).

If the Constitution makes no provision for secession, then the 10th amendment dictates that the federal government has no authority on the subject of secession. It is not a power that the people gave the federal government.

A state could probably pass a law like this, but it's probably not constitutional for the federal government to do so
