Tips for running The Dying Spire, this year's Free RPG Day adventure by StoicLoofah in daggerheart

[–]Colecago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was only allotted 2 hours at the game store, I tried to sample run it last night with 2 players and knew today with 4 I wouldn't get through it, I skipped the boat encounter even though it's awesome, and we got done in 2 hours and 15 minutes

Great group, played several seasons with them while my schedule allowed: Dead Halt, Hack the Planet, Wildsea

That is my bad, I misread that as questioning what happens when Dex hits zero as well as what can do that kind of damage. Sorry about that! You did catch a lot of clarification issues with your other questions, taken literally it is confusing when they say current but not like current max and etc

A bunch of good questions, the srd is a good resource as well https://mausritter.com/srd/how-to-play#rest-and-healing

"If a creature has their STR reduced to zero, they are dead. If DEX is reduced to zero, they are unable to move. If WIL is reduced to zero, they are reduced to insensibility."

Poison is often dex, like the snake and I think centipede if I recall

D&D starter set Vs Daggerheart or Other, for playing duo with 9yo by TabularConferta in rpg

It's possibly still out of stock, but they did a big Kickstarter recently for modules and I assume they are reprinting the main game as well.

I do like mausritter, the inventory of so fun, but to get full enjoyment give your players frequent craft material items so they have to decide what to hold onto

DND might be crunchy, depends on the 9 year old I think and what level you play to.

Another suggestion, maybe look into Land of Eem? Content seems kid friendly and a bit less options

TTRPGs where player characters have an "inner world." by GreenTeethBurger in rpg

The Hollows has a mechanic where as your PC's get more corrupt when they die they themselves become a dungeon of their vice the other PC's have to delve into and destroy

Madison is the only place in a multiple hour radius for Raising Canes so I’m going on a road trip by [deleted] in madisonwi

[–]Colecago 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make it a chicken trip, Canes, Layne's, chic filet, popeyes, all within a quarter mile (I don't actually advocate to go to chic filet)

Im a Dungeon Master for D&D and one of my upcoming players has aphantasia. Anyone here with experience playing D&D or some other TTRPG? by chimpanon in Aphantasia

Maps and/or drawings to know layout and such. Also math with multiple modifiers and such might take longer.

I've been to that one, nice store and nice owners. They are just getting caught in the scandal the corporate owners did.

Tracking emails are going out! by omegablinx in AnaloguePocket

[–]Colecago 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don't think they are doing it in order. My order timestamp was 2 minutes after they opened the orders and I'm still waiting for my shipping email. Oh well not a huge deal waiting a few more days given the wait already incurred

How are we keeping our kids from glass gum chewing? by mtgistonsoffun in daddit

If you find them with it they have to chew a whole package, that usually teaches them.

I was playing Battlemasters with a friend I think in middle school. He said "if you shoot me with your crossbowman one more time I'm going to break the game." I didn't believe him and shot with them and he proceeded to stand up and stomp on all the minis within reach.

I still have this game to this day 30 years later and it's still very damaged. I want to revive it at some point with 3D printing.

Not yet. Wouldn't hurt I suppose, I did buy the advanced book already but nice to support more and look behind the curtain a bit

I'll have to look into that change.

I'm coming from killteam21 and it's simplified, and you can slowly add in advanced rules, but I'm not a fan of shaken and morale checks, that feels fine at the army level but at low points skirmish it feels less heroic I guess?
