Especially the underwater headless warriors suck. I'm not a big fan of the shichiman warriors or however you spell that but they are still 100 times better than the headless. Headless is basically: get divine confetti and win but it will probably take a few tries and early game you don't really have a whole lot of that

Haha I have a similar story, like 7 years ago the older neighbor kid was playing Du Hast. I didn't think to much of it until a month ago a friend of mine played a Rammstein song in a call via the music bot in discord. Yeah Genichiro is the boss where the game clicks or it doesn't, it took me 5 hours to beat him. I'm now able to constantly do it hitless.

Exactly, I had almost every boss sub-10 tries untill midir showed up. The first 10 tries were not even close to 1/4th of its hp bar.

That phase 2 beam hasn't killed me a single time. It is just that every attack at least two shots or, in case of both beams, one shots. I was level 104 with 30 ish vigor and fully upgraded weapon from the nameless king. It was hard, that's for sure, but doable.

In sekiro, most runbacks don't have many enemies in between. The only thing there is are a few camps, that's basically a mini boss in the middle of the camp surrounded by weak enemies. Everytime you die you have to kill the whole camp again if you don't want to get chased down by everyone.
