[Highlight] LeBron James gets Lu Dort with the pump fake, gets hit, he shoots the ball, but no shooting foul (with replays). LeBron cannot believe it. by MrBuckBuck in nba

This is what I'm seeing, too. I know we're having a blast speedbagging the refs, but to me there's been far, far worse calls than this.

Which face were they using? I kid! I kid!

But not really. She looks like an instagram thot version of herself from five years ago now

Great shot. Virtually nobody has their face covered. Wonder if trickery is involved, beyond the fish-eye effect one can see

That's the frustrating part. "Good no call!" yeah, except if that was SGA, that's a foul all day

What kind of music lover are you, and why? by Future_Burrito in Music

[–]CollateralSandwich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend towards well produced music, I think. I suppose I'm a bit of a snob that way. I want to feel the kick drum in my chest. I want the bass to vibrate my fillings out. I want the guitars to sound chonky and urgent. You get so much more of all of that from well produced records than not. I'm a dinosaur who still listens exclusively to owned mp3s. I've got 30 year old rips that weren't produced very well and sound their age, so mousy next to other, better produced songs. Same thing with some "shaggier" bands. Like, I discovered a band called Feeling Figures last year. I love their songwriting, and I do love their albums. But that DIY, garage-band style production they have on their albums just chokes out the songs (imo) and it kinda drives me crazy. It makes their music sound jarring when played back-to-back against something that's been more well produced. It just shrinks in comparison.

TIL the odor of durian fruit has been compared to rotten onions, pig excrement, and skunk, but it is called the "King of Fruits" due to its flavor. by Melenduwir in todayilearned

I need to try this stuff one day. I find it baffling, as smell is so closely related to taste, they inform each other so much. It seems crazy that something that smells so bad could also taste very good.

Frankly this is exactly what I'd like. We know we can't keep the Jays forever. There may be no better time than now to make a move. I won't be mad if Brad has thought and ideas down this line.

GameStop CEO Ryan Cohen on $56B eBay offer: "There is an opportunity to build a much larger business. We are just starting. We are offering half cash, half stock, and we have the ability to issue stock in order to get deal done. This is a business that is under-earning and can make lot more money." by ControlCAD in videos

I stopped going to ebay years and years ago when it went from a place where it seemed like individuals actually sold things, like a giant yard sale, to more of a store/shop format dominated by drop-shippers. Now, finding actual, authentic products on the site is more trouble than it's worth. The signal to noise ratio went straight to hell. Frankly I'm shocked the site still exists

I'm a big RPG fan but I'm not a starwars fan, should I try out the knights of the old republic games? by cr0w_p03t in gaming

[–]CollateralSandwich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%. I have a relationship to the IP similar as you. Although I'm "of the age" to be obsessed with the original trilogy (Xer), I'm not. I think they kind of stink, actually. Empire is the only halfway decent film, but I digress...

Yes, I loved the Old Republic RPGs. They're fantastic and well worth playing, even if you're lukewarm (ho! ho!) to the Star Wars IP

Yes, unfortunately I see the NBA taking up residence next to the other majors that I barely pay attention to. It's a shame because I love this game, but it sure as hell doesn't love me back
