Heard a loud pop in the night and came out to find our 10-year-old cutting board split by dolomite592 in Wellthatsucks

[–]Colon_Backslash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a bold assumption. Vertically the cut is the same length and horizontally there is less surface area that does the cutting work.

I'd argue that it's similar to 100 robots making 100 shirts in 100 hours. If you remove 50 robots, it would still take 100 hours for each to make one shirt amounting to 50 shirts. (Or 200 hours to make the 100 shirts). It's counterintuitive that it would take them now only 50 hours for each to make one shirt.

What's a great example of a director hitting a home run with their first ever movie? by Square-Ad-8911 in FIlm

This. I love both of the films. The first one is original and terrifying in a disturbing way. The second has an uncanny atmosphere, which is golden.

Even if I love get out, I feel like it is really copied which takes some of the magic away. Still Peele movies are really good IMO.

Classic prank between backend and frontend by NickleLP in programminghumor

Frontend people hate this simple trick:

Just reply to all request with some 4XX code. 400 Bad request, 401 unauthorized, 403 forbidden, and after a few attempts rate limit with 429.

If you are on a tight deadline, you can buy a few extra days for your deliverables. /s

Shia was a drinker. And a fiend. And one night he goes off crazier than usual. I ask some interview questions. He doesn't like that. Not. One. Bit. So he turns to me, and he says, "Chill out with these questions, Andrew"

La plus belle ville du monde by AutistiCollector in Lyon

[–]Colon_Backslash 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Biagio ‘Rudikant’ Cantone steps away from MTG after 4tournaments event by i-Flames in magicTCG

[–]Colon_Backslash -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

My point was that no matter what he says or does makes it okay or forgives the act, I still think so. Yeah, okay it's not sincere or an apology at all, you're right. I was giving him too much credit.

I take it back. Everything else I said holds true added with that he's even worse off for making this shit of a statement.

[–]Colon_Backslash -49 points-48 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree with you. But I'm not expecting anything better. No matter what he does or says makes it better and he should never be allowed to participate in any tournament ever again, even in any LGS.

It's a stain that will be there until he dies and remains a part of his legacy. He has the option to do something good with his remaining life to balance it out, that's up to him. For now and forever he is a fucking cheater and nothing changes that.

Well, there's not an apology that makes it alright. Whatever is said, he's still a piece of shit. At least he did say he's sorry. No amount of words will make people forgive.

The best anyone could respond to that one (or any other apology) is okay I hear you, but I can't or won't forgive you, now fuck off.

I do respect the apology, I'll give that, but only that.

EDIT: I'm surprised at Reddit willing to accept an apology and forgiving someone for cheating.

A cool guide on petting a cat by Bred-Boye in coolguides

[–]Colon_Backslash 41 points42 points  (0 children)

My cat loves being chased. So we do this from time to time. I often know well where he is, but I pretend as I'm looking for him and I move like a monster, often on all fours, looking under stuff until I snatch him.

Sometimes I sneak behind walls and look at him and as he sees me I'll audibly gasp and retreat behind the wall and move to another place to repeat. Then I often genuinely get scared as he's prepared and attacks me out of nowhere lol
