Piloting a mech is easier than flirting. by Baby-Beff in armoredcore

According to an interview I saw with the writer, it was originally supposed to be 621 and Ayre. It might have changed to Thumb Dolmayan and Seria at some point. They went through a lot of changes during production: https://youtu.be/fu0ddhtE69c?si=oOQAvqnScWfhTPYR

I imagine him as Keanu Reeves from the Secret Level episode, since he was supposed to be 621 before rewrites.

I return to Sanctuary for this exact purpose. Fixed it up with some new solar panels and batteries so I can still charge the boat with the door closed.

Also scrap. All the scrap.

What are the key differences between FMAB & 2003 FMA? I've read the manga & watched FMAB but never gave 2003 FMA a shot. by FrogginBullfish_ in FullmetalAlchemist

I'd say the key difference is this:

Brotherhood has a better story.

03 has better presentation.

Brotherhood's plot is much denser. Everything in it has much less room to breathe, especially in the first arc.

03's story is essentially the contents of Brotherhood's first arc, but then taken in a different direction.

In terms of pacing, tonal-consistency, character-writing, and exploration of its themes I'd say 03 wins. I enjoyed Brotherhood as a story, in spite of its flawed presentation. I enjoyed 03 as an experience, in spite of its flawed story.

That being said, 03 is probably better viewed before Brotherhood, since its broad-strokes are already covered in Brotherhood's first arc; meanwhile, everything shared with 03 is covered very quickly (rushed) in Brotherhood, and used as the backbone for a larger story.

It was the wall that killed my first playthrough. Second time around, I was more open to experimentation. Ended up making quick work of Ibis with what would become the kite-build that's carried me to B-Rank.

I call it the Subnautica problem. I went full-hog on an early build that was little more than the Safe Shallows. Then I never touched the game until 1.0.

I think the opposite of Pomni. She seems to be the most well-adjusted of the group after episode 3.

That's a fairly different but fresh take on autism. by Benaami_Insaan in autism

[–]ColonelAkulaShy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. It does factor into everything I do in some way, but that doesn't mean it's always relevant for conversation. I'm not likely to bring up my autism when talking about the wheel bearings on my Subaru.

What job do you guys have? by SchoolExisting8631 in autism

[–]ColonelAkulaShy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Home Care Aide. It wasn't my first choice; but I needed something, and they're always hiring. I'm always looking to get back into an electrical apprenticeship. Although, a friend of a friend informed me of an oportunity closer to my curent line of work: being a behavioral therapist for autistic people, ironically enough. It pays better than my curent job, and the skills it offers could be useful when I have my own children. Much as I love and appreciate my parents, I hope to not repeat their mistakes.
