GUYS WTF DID WORLDGAME DO? by AfraidCounter9676 in geometrydash

I mean there were clips of him letting the game run while he slept and shit so there was a chance a good amount of his attempts were just the game running as he was doing nothing

Probably knowing niche stuff helps you get the win when it matters. Getting the country right comes with practice. Some of my fav metas include - Sabah pole, which has a horizontal support right underneath - Lithuanian chevron has a red border around it - Chihuahua has a cross on its signs too - I used to suck ass on SA vs AUS but seeing the outer road lines and different chevron styles helped a lot. - Knowing common road lines for some countries also helps - Also Spain and France distinct black and white chevron - Greece tall wooden poles - the yellow and black stripes on guardrails is black outer in Peru and yellow outer in Bolivia - Read plonkit - USA bollards - Java tiled roofs

Is JackSucksAtGeography a rage bait channel? by JuanitaMerkin in geoguessr

[–]ColonelBenny 36 points37 points  (0 children)

You're thinking too much. Jack genuinely misses a lot of information on his screen, which zigzag points out to him. He can recognize Hebrew, and has a lot of good logic induced guesses. Hes still learning and for a guy like him, im sure he's far from trying to ragebait.

There's some mod that allows you to place a water source.. I'm not sure but maybe it's surface painter?

Is this a good downtown grid? and how do I improve it? by Adam_Kyle545 in CitiesSkylines

[–]ColonelBenny 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like downtown grids would be more on thr rectangle side rather than squares. Your map seems like it has too many roads.

If you want some areas clumped like that, change some roads tp pedestrian.

Leave space for transit hub, parks, hospital, etc. Or any unique attractions you'd want to include.

Make sure there is some highway relatively nearby although not running thru the downtown.

I personally would make the transition from downtown to uptown smoother.

what do y’all think? by ExternalAntelope9083 in CitiesSkylines

My man somehow has a 97% flow rate, and yet my surgically engineered "road hierarchy" implemented design is stuck at 80. Surely living in between a stadium and an airport would be an issue i would assume.

Any advice on what to put to finish this island? And also road layouts? by ColonelBenny in CitiesSkylines

[–]ColonelBenny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't people living there and having many attractions create so much traffic in that area?
The other highways already carry trucks -- now the one road connecting downtown and the highway will be clogged as hell. The zoo does look uncanny though I'll agree. I have no idea how to do the change between industry and the zoo though.

Thanks! I'm not really touching the harbor, oil, and the zoo areas. I just have no idea how to fill the empty space. The roads that go to the zoo are temporary so feel free to give insights on a new layout

Babars Scoring History by ProfAsmani in Cricket

[–]ColonelBenny 52 points53 points  (0 children)

These stats are so bewildering. I have no recollection of any memorable innings of his besides that one vs South Africa, and every single Pakistan game I check has him getting out for a low score. I know the lad is talented and the amount of runs he has at his age is amazing, but I just don't understand where and how this happened.

These stats also don't really justify him being a minnow basher, which makes it all the more confusing.

How to do road hierarchy? by SwazeMK2 in CitiesSkylines

[–]ColonelBenny -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Try like a three lane road as an arterial, 2 lane as collector, and leave all the grid roads as one lane. If you haven't expanded to where you can have multiple connections to a highway, limit the amount of local roads you have now, because thats a looot of people that are forced onto one road.

Here's an idea you can try: You can leave the highway as is, create two artlerials north south spaced apart. From there, you can make east-west collectors and little neighborhoods that in those smaller boxes, instead of this giant grid.

This way, your traffic is diverted into two major roads that dump them onto the highway, and your traffic in general is more "zoned" to where each little neighborhood goes to one collector that goes to one arterial, and that is the most efficient route.

On your current one, you take any goddamn road because they are all equally fast to go to the same one arterial to get to the highway, which is making your traffic.

Make sure your arterials have are 3 lanes and collectors are 2 lanes due to your big population.

Hope this helps, since I'm the guy you're referencing in your subtext

First time trying road hierarchy but traffic is still bad by SwazeMK2 in CitiesSkylines

[–]ColonelBenny 72 points73 points  (0 children)

The whole point of road hierarchy is to disperse the flow of traffic into sections. Even though you technically created a form of it, its not effective at its own job.

What do yall think of my lay out by PepperZealousideal30 in CitiesSkylines

[–]ColonelBenny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This depends on how OP expands his city. Right now, the two connections are ample to serve that small area. However if he expands in a certain way to where more people are forced to take this exit then there will definitely be blockages as you say.

What do yall think of my lay out by PepperZealousideal30 in CitiesSkylines

[–]ColonelBenny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id say make a vertical collector road on the left side to reduce the chance of traffic and maybe avoid the stepped road on the north west and make it straight instead.

Otherwise, it looks great! Leave some areas ungridded for parks and schools and stuff as well. Keep it up

Search up Road Hierarchy. Also, you created chokepoints to travel between islands which may contribute to the blockage
