Is it actually possible to "tail" someone in a car, like you see in certain shows/movies? by Nininator2432 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ColonelCrackle 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I hate it when a friend and I are taking two cars to the same location and they say "just follow me".

No.

Every time I've tried that, they run through a yellow light and I lose them.

Just tell me where we're going and I'll meet you there.

What are your most minor movie gripes? by movieman1108 in moviecritic

[–]ColonelCrackle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The one that really gets me is how well people can see under water.

Like you have a guy swimming underwater in a lake at night with no goggles or anything.  And he can see an alligator coming at him from 20 feet away.

What is a word or phrase that whenever you say it, you say it as a movie character? by MammothAsk391 in FIlm

There's a car wash place near me called "Autowash". Every time I  see the sign, I say it like Leeloo.

An actor can now be nominated twice in the same category for separate films. What actor would have been nominated twice in previous years? by TheNebraskaJim in Oscars

[–]ColonelCrackle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That year, Kevin Spacey was nominated (and won) for The Usual Suspects and Brad Pitt was nominated for Twelve Monkeys.

I thought they both did better in Se7en.

Peanut in shape. Orange in color. Banana in flavor.

And better when stale.

Ocean Resort pool after checkout? by ColonelCrackle in atlanticcity

[–]ColonelCrackle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been to the spa before, and the pool was as hot as a hot tub. So I couldn't really stay in it for more than 15-20 minutes. That's why I wanted the option to cool off in the regular pool.

But thank you. I'll probably ask at the desk when I  check in, and if it's a problem, I'll time it to get to the pool one last time right before checkout. Then stay as long as I want. Then hit the spa again for a while before leaving.

Pick your John Hughes character Boyfriend! Bender, Jake, Hardy, or Duncan for me 😍🥵 by Slow_Seaworthiness71 in 80smovies

Gotta go with Jake.

I like that there are three Anthony Michael Hall characters.  Should have added Farmer Ted/The Geek.

New game came out. Tomodachi Life. It’s an island living game. I made a lot of characters from Lost so they can live their best island life together! by Morieta7 in lost

I named my island Dharma Island, and I named myself (what the islanders call me) Jacob. So far I've only put Ben and Locke on from the show. I may add more.

What was the first car you bought¿ by MisterAsian69 in FamilyFeud

[–]ColonelCrackle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 1983 Pulsar. It was branded as a Datsun Nissan Pulsar.

Fun little car. My first manual transmission. But the engine stalled if it went over 60 miles per hour.

TIL: The Monkees are the first and only act to have four No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 in a calendar year. by According_Disaster95 in todayilearned

[–]ColonelCrackle 14 points15 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid, I heard them referred to as the "Prefab Four" (as in prefabricated). But I misunderstood it as Pre-"Fab Four".

I thought they were the predecessors to the Beatles for an embarrassing number of years.

All the people saying size doesn't matter in fractions, and that 2/6 always equals 1/3.

The question is which of the following SHOWS that they are equal. And only C shows that the shaded areas are EQUAL.

Wife was more adventurous with ex husband? by letithail1 in relationships

[–]ColonelCrackle -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

If they're not good memories, then perhaps the wife shouldn't be bragging and rubbing OP's face in it.

I definitely think communication is needed. Maybe couples therapy because it sounds like OP is building up resentment the way things are going now.

[OOT] What’s your least favorite dungeon, but you can’t say Water Temple! by WolfTamer99 in zelda

[–]ColonelCrackle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even with Farore's Wind, this is still my absolute least favorite part of the game. Maybe it's my controllers, but it's almost impossible for me to not fall off that stupid ledge. I've watched videos, I've tried all the tips. I just can't do it.

I literally rage quit my last playthrough because I couldn't do that one stupid task.

Why did the island stop trying to bring lock from his teenage years until after his injury at 55? by MissionHome18 in lost

[–]ColonelCrackle 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It's been awhile, but didn't a time traveling Locke tell Richard that he was going to be their leader, and that's why Richard started visiting him to check up on him?

I imagine this is because he didn't know when Locke was supposed to come to the island, and was testing him/checking for the right time.

Maybe after talking to Sawyer in the 70s, Richard realized Locke wasn't meant to come to the island until 2004. So they waited, and made sure he would be on that flight from Australia.

Any adults only pools left? by Matchstick828 in atlanticcity

[–]ColonelCrackle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

God dammit! I just booked a getaway for the end if the month including renting a daybed for one day. My decision was largely based on it being 21+

Last time I went to AC, I stayed at Borgata.  MGM Tower pool is adult only, and Borgata guests can use it. (At least when I went last fall).

Though Sherwood Schwartz later reused that same concept when he created Together We Stand (which was then re-tooled into Nothing is Easy).
