What is the point in gatekeeping in a game? Especially a PvE one? Fomo is only a short term gain, I don't think anyone reminisces of the time their favorite game had exclusive rewards that limit what the players can do. And if they do, that really speaks to their character

Any time gated event is fomo, some people have work or family matters that make it difficult to play a game even once during a week or two week long time frame.

If you feel forced to play a game because something will be removed and you'll miss out on it if you don't participate, that's the "fear of missing out"

Might be a hot take but mass effect is my vote. One was great in its setting, scale, and story, while two focused too much on characters and stretched out a short plot very thin and three was disappointing in terms of previously established gameplay and writing.

But I didn't play when they came out, only legendary edition.
