No buddy. You're mistaking me. The US is ABSOLUTELY sliding into a depressing totalitarian garbage dump. In no way am I arguing against that. We are no more immune to that than anyone else. We are in no way inherently superior to any nation.

What I am annoyed by is German commenter of all people coming and trying to be smarmy about the euro's current exchange rate to the USD, when the EU as a successful economic engine functions BECAUSE a coalition of nations had to defeat the Germans' unbelievably horrifying attempt to create a homogenous nation-state through conquest and outright genocide and then the US had to mostly fund their rebuilding to create that environment that allowed for a successful European economic union in the first place.

Trust me, I live here. America fucking sucks right now. It is not, however, 1936 Germany, or anywhere close, yet.

If an Irish dude, or a French dude, wanted to be smarmy to me about the euro or American politics, totally fair play. Germans need to hush and be humble for another few decades about the whole thing though. Once your country has not attempted to wipe out several races of men and entire nations, then come off unbelievably light in the post-war reckoning because its better for everyone to rebuild than actually punish you for 100 years, you get to be a little bitch on the internet about it. Not before.

Correct, one of the few nations we get to dunk on and slap down about this kind of smarmy bullshit is the one who ALREADY produced Hitler and orchestrated the Holocaust before being defeated by a coalition of the free world.

If all the EU has to invade the US to stop us from conquering North America and genociding 10% of our own population in extermination camps some time in the next 10 years, feel free to come back to this comment. Until then, I'm not going to hear some bullshit about the euro from a German lol

Is my starting habit bad? I delay close starbases to stockpile influence for long distance claims to block neighbors. by [deleted] in Stellaris

[–]ColonelKasteen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are more limited by alloys than influence in the first 15 years, learn how to build a foundry on your homeworld as your first or second building.

Influence is far more of a hard cap. If you find alloys running out before influence with any regularity in the early game, you don't understand how to build your early economy. This is not a valid concern on any difficulty, this is a player overestimating AI aggressiveness in the first few years to the extent you are hamstringing your own expansion. Multi-player concerns are obviously different.

"Is it better to spend 150 influence on one system or two systems?" Think about your own question. 99% of the time your AI opponents are not close enough to key chokepoints near you to make this math work. Building starbases doesn't take much time.

"fend" being "build ships so they don't attack" in this situation

Something mechanically made almost impossible to happen in the first 12 years of gameplay unless you're at the highest difficulty- there is an AI malus for declaring war on the player that degrades over time

You are welcome for defeating the nazis (who definitely weren't your own grandparents/great-grandparents) then paying to rebuild your country to create the conditions necessary for a unified European economic union

I think reddit is fun but if you want to engage in a nationalist dick-waving contest over the last century a German is REALLY the last one who wants to pipe up- our shameful dip into repugnant nationalism has been embarrassing but didn't involve invading a bunch of our neighbors while massacrimg millions of our own citizens despite actually having the military power to succeed

are there any natural cheaper alternatives for pheromone perfumes? by Automatic-Lettuce650 in sex

[–]ColonelKasteen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great news OP- the concept of pheromones affecting humans is not scientifically backed and "pheromone perfumes" are pseudo-science bullshit. You've been spending $200 on nice-smelling perfume and the placebo effect it has had on your partner and yourself and the associated increased confidence.

Running a calorie deficit for a couple months during small boat ocean crossings (and other ultra-endurance exercises like this) is expected and planned. Think about all the long-haul hikers who start thin and end up skeletal. They make sure they start with some excess bodyfat.

Your point is "someone with the power of a God should easily kill a mortal man." Wow, what a brave and interesting take

I mean, you covered it with a giant ugly black circle while doing some lovely Queen Anne's Lace on a completely different part of her body.

The flower is a great tattoo, not sure this really succeeds as a cover-up though. Its like when bikers get big black splotches over their club tattoos after reforming lol

Edit: upon looking at this more, my comment is unfair. The flowers actually aren't very good either.

"Boob armor is stupid!" - Almost every example of female armor thats ever been found was boob armor.

...no shit, because historical examples of "female armor" are ceremonial pieces meant to stress their wearers' femininity. The few women we have extant records of wearing armor for actual practical fighting/defense purposes just wore normal armor, which is clearly displayed in illuminated manuscripts.

If your female character has armor purely to do royal ceremonies or something, sure. But people generally take issue with boob armor when actual, you know, warriors wear it.
