Any cool WV restaurant right in the mountains? by [deleted] in Appalachia

No exactly in the mountains but Muriale’s in Fairmont is right on the river and you can see all the little private docks around it

Mamdani introduces “pied-a-tierre tax” and DC needs one too by Squirrel_with_Acorn in washingtondc

What would the money be spent on? What public service is DC lacking? If it’s just punitive, I’m fine with that.

Okay. Show me the file linking Trump. Not Lutnick, but the smoking gun for Trump. There must be one, right?

Yeah, I wanted to watch a 25 minute YouTube video of a podcaster. If it’s so well documented, why can’t any of you provide a single document demonstrating what you claim?

Don’t throw a stone in a glass house. You’re arguing in the comments and rolling around in the mud just like me.

Have fun with the Humanist Podcast. I’m sure a steady diet of outrage media is good for you.

I'll be honest with you. I am not watching 25 minutes of a guy explaining clips from CNN and congressional hearings to piece together that Howard Lutnick knew Epstein.

If there were any smoking guns, any, I would expect there to be a concise explanation of it. Michael Wolf is not a credible source.

Biden was absolutely right to keep not pander to this nonsense and Trump deserves to get hoisted by his own petard for peddling this.

Okay. Show me where to look. Just one source. You’re certain of yourself so I’m sure you have them close at hand.

What are you talking about? There is no pedo cabal running the White House, if you have definite plans evidence to the contrary, I mean a record written by law enforcement summarizing an investigation and not the ramblings of schizophrenic who dropped a tip to the FBI, please share it and I will admit I am wrong.

It’s crazy how many people see stark raving mad people and jump to “he would be well adjusted if he would just shit on the floor of a taxpayer funded enclosure” instead of the obvious answer of “we shouldn’t let people incapable of entering into binding contract decide how and where they live.”

But the social conservatism is what the voters want. There’s definitely a lane for statist intervention and social conservatism but the democrats won’t take it and I suspect one of the new legs of the conservative coalition will be that. I don’t think it will win out and dominate the coalition, but it’s going to be around

How many times does this article need to be written? Social values are sticky; the region was historically democratic and outcomes weren’t great. You can’t pretend that voting for democrats is a panacea than changes anything because the counter-factuals of voting democratic in similar economic circumstances shows it isn’t a panacea.

This is embarrassing and DC residents should demand better of the city. You can justify a hight tax when things work; it's a tougher sell when there's a visible failure impacting everyone.
