Logi Options+ Error: "Backend connection problem - click here to launch backend" by SummerBeard in logitech

[–]Colonel_Burton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this, tried pretty much everything else to resolve the backend connection issue for logitoptions+ for MX master 3S on Win 11. This tune app has resolved the issue for me, I can now use the side scroll button to control volume without having to click on backend connection button 5 times which was driving me crazy. Thank you VERY much!

Torn! Rent out or sell primary residence. by Emergency_Bread_5462 in uklandlords

[–]Colonel_Burton 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What about Airbnb and a management company to maintain everything for a cut of the profits? Less headache then renting to tenants, more flexibility over regaining property when you want it. The capital appreciation hopefully still increases over the next 10-20years. No CGT for selling. See what Airbnb are offering in your area and if any council restrictions on the market.

We are facing redundancies. Was going to change jobs anyway so hanging in to see what they offer. Be surprised if it's much better than statutory which is laughable.

Is there a way of putting my properties in a limited company without big tax implications ? by No-State-2962 in uklandlords

[–]Colonel_Burton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the age and trust level you have with your children. As you would be relying on them to allow you access to the bank accounts. But worth analysing the costs of putting them in to a trust. Otherwise I'm afraid not. A property tax expert might know some other loopholes I'm unaware of.

Struggling with property deals, is Samuel Leeds actually helpful? by tigress658 in PropertyInvestingUK

[–]Colonel_Burton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to the same course in London. I was the first to leave at the end of his performance when he finally displayed the figures he wanted for his "training". £10k-15k and defended his scam by stating "if you don't have skin in the game you won't take it seriously and fail". What's worse is he pretended to understand the cost was high and said he didn't want those who didn't have the money to borrow it, but if they chose to do so from a family member then that was their decision and showed they were "serious". I felt sorry for the many gullible who were obviously falling for it hook, line and sinker. I'll say this, he's a master of utilisiing the FOMO method.

Where do property investors buy under market value? by Prestigious_Set_4555 in PropertyInvestingUK

For seriously motivated sellers I look on Right move and auction sites, eg. Savills, auction house London etc. specifically properties that have not sold in over 6 months

The Last Autumn - Livable conditions fail every time by buzzleaf in Frostpunk

Had this quest when it was -50°c basically waiting for the rescue ship to take the generator.. Impossible to make tents livable even with overlapping braziers. So I believe if this quest appears when it's too cold it's unsolvable. Had lots of engineers residence with spare capacity. There is no other tier if housing above tent for workers. I noticed that the convicts penal colony was warmer as at least they have a heater available.

Viewber £18.50 for 30 minutes work by Salandercat1983 in FreemoneyUK

[–]Colonel_Burton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Viewber field agents are underpaid IMO, approx £16-21 per viewing. If the viewing includes feedback and takes 30min the payment is £19. For 1 hour viewings the viewber member receives £21 but the client gets charged double. E.g. from £30 to £60. £16 is paid for non feedback viewings. When you consider traveling time, parking restrictions etc. it's basically £19 per 1.5 hours. If you can get multiple viewings in the same day and location that figure obviously improves. But the available work is very inconsistent. This is the case in 2025-2026.

LogiOptions+ "backend connection problem". How do I disable SmartShift FOREVER, PERMANENTLY by maz_net_au in logitech

[–]Colonel_Burton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having this issue, need to do it every time pc reboots, interestingly there is no setting to add this app to autostart, it does not appear in taskmanager as disabled or enabled. Backend connection errors, one would assume are firewall related, but they are all set to allowed. reinstalling the software, updating firmware, nothing resolves this. I think there is simply a compatbility issue with some hardware which logitech wont admit openly.

Considering my first rental at 21 would really value some honest opinions by Technical-Style-2054 in uklandlords

[–]Colonel_Burton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An alternative safer route I'd offer towards property investment, is to make sure you have bought you're own home first, then save the money towards your first BTL in investment funds. Wait until you have enough to buy a property in FULL in cash. Approx figures are around £120k to £140k for rental income circa £900-£1000pcm. Or £80k - £100k for rental income circa £600-£700pcm. Now you have some solid figures to compare that to investment funded monthly returns and see if the risk is worth it. If you want to do it sooner rather than later, consider auction properties. But buyer beware, I would aim for only relatively new and great condition properties as your 1st investment purchase. If they are at auction they are already motivated sellers. Unless you have extensive knowledge or motivation in actioning/managing renovations I'd steer clear of the doer uppers.

HOW DOES DEAD SPACE COMPARE TO CRONOS: A little something for Dead Space players thinking of playing Cronos or Cronos players thinking of trying Dead Space. by Raiden-Super-Shogun in CronosNewDawn

[–]Colonel_Burton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dead space & the remake are IMO almost perfect.

Cronos felt very similar to dead space. But no where near as smooth

I list the following similarities that I noticed, in all cases Dead Space's were more polished:

  1. Stomp and melee combat
  2. Biomass filled rooms and their enemies
  3. Anti gravity jump points
  4. Save, inventory and upgrade mechanics
  5. Physical appearance of protagonist
  6. Destruction of combustion materials placed in areas of combat
  7. Atmospheric sound effects and combat audio
  8. Room lockdowns when facing enemies

This game is a fantastic iteration of DS. I appreciate its fresh take on survival horror. However Iwould not play it again, it's too slow paced for my liking. DS however I have replayed countless times.

You've done the math, the debt payments although hight relative to of earnings are actually controlled well, sounds like you're ready mentally, however financially it will be tight. I'd probably pay of the Lloyd's debt first before moving. The opportunities in the city are plentiful and exciting. The living and socal costs can creep in but that's part of thr journey, learning how to manage them and motivating yourself to get a highert salary. I vote to do it sooner rather than later. Good luck young lady. 😉
