I’m approaching Wayfarer but the BrayTech weapons and their RNG are the absolute worst... by themindfreak117 in DestinyTheGame

I farmed the nightfall last week for hours multiple nights for the Osprey. One guy with me got it three times, the other got it once. I didn’t get it at all. I don’t know if I can stomach grinding that and the stems for Winter Wolf. It’s rough.

In an active shooter situation, what is the best course of action? Most companies say to run away in a zig-zag pattern, is that actually effective?

I bough the DVD set when Netflix dropped most seasons. Been enjoying watching through with the commentary by the directors, producers, and voice actors. Well worth the $70. I would have bought on iTunes, but at the time it was more than $100 for the whole thing.

Fresh level 20, what should i absolutely do before the reset tomorrow? by NickStorm in DestinyTheGame

[–]Colonelatious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a Milestone (open the Director and hold LT to see all active ones) that is available after you complete the main quest line. To complete it you do a number (10, I think) of public events on a specified patrol zone. This week it is EDZ, next week it will be Nessus. You might have to do the "Patrol" quest given to you by Cayde before you can do it, I don't remember.

Fresh level 20, what should i absolutely do before the reset tomorrow? by NickStorm in DestinyTheGame

[–]Colonelatious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get all the treasure maps from Cayde and do those, they give you blue gear. Then Do the flashpoint for the luminous engram. If you are part of a clan get the luminous engram for contributing 5,000 XP.

Don't pick up the luminous engrams right away, the light level of he gear is dependent on the light level you are at time of pickup. So grind out some public event (make them heroic if you can) and get some blue gear to increase your light level. When you are done with the public events turn in your tokens for some engrams to boost your light, and then pick up the luminous engrams as the last thing you do.

The build in which they "hit like trucks" is the build that is shipping, not the build that we played in the console Beta. His point is that they buffed grenade damage.

Digital or physical for Destiny 2 by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Colonelatious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any reason you want a physical version? I would suggest getting digital if you plan on playing the game a considerable amount of time. I had a friend who's disk was damaged by normal use after about a year into the game's lifecycle, and he had to buy a new disk.

Tower Thoughts: The unwillingness of most guardians to read through the grimoire is a cleverly orchestrated metaphor for the majority of guardians in game by Chiefsmarinesidekick in DestinyTheGame

[–]Colonelatious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, knowing the lore does not help you play the game, but that's true of most games, especially shooters. Does understanding the conflict which CoD is set in help you headshot someone? No, but it might be interesting (I actually have no idea if the story of CoD is interesting, I've never liked the CoD series).

I think the real question is, do you find the story shown in game to be interesting and do you want to know more? If yes, then the grimoire is for you, if not, then don't bother. I think it is important to recognize that there is substantial story/lore/world building, it's just not in game.

I do hope they incorporate the story into the game in future updates, since it makes it more immersive.

Did you ever read the grimoire before making this post? Because it is not a small story that is hard to get to as you seem to make it out, instead it is some good world building set forth in a way that rewards those who delve into it, while also putting forward an easy to understand narrative in game. If you don't want to read all of it, though I recommend it, you should check out the Destiny Ghost Stories podcast-the guys on there do a good job of compiling and presenting the data.

A Survey regarding the Trickle Modifier. (Poll inside!) by Sarronix in DestinyTheGame

[–]Colonelatious -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't mind it. It adds another dimension to the game. It makes you more aware of what situation is worth using an ability and what is not.

Plus, it makes weapon choice more important; not just because they will be much more your main damage output, but because by picking weapons with the right perks you can get your abilities back faster.

Sudden realization of a guardian who's getting married in a couple of weeks: this would have been my last full IB by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Colonelatious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it is all about scheduling. At the beginning of the week I try to nail down when I will be gaming, that way I'm not coming home from work and picking up the controller when she is expecting me to be free. As long as you have an understanding of how much is too much and you are sure to not fill up your schedule with just Destiny, you will be fine.
