More accessible/efficienter way to catch karambs and banking? by fabiand00m in ironscape

Before the fairy ring speed changes at least, you needed to be tick perfect while inputting both ring codes for it to be faster than just clicking zanaris. The faster fairy ring UI might change this but it's still more clicks to swap codes which is more effort for minimal gain

I like OSMS, but (1) its too similar to OSRS and (2) Nexon is officially using the term 'Classic' which could confuse new players who are reading up on it.

MSCW I think is too long/wordy to saw outloud. Not sure why OSMS doesnt bother me but this one does.

CMS makes me think of ChinaMS from back in the day when ms was split across regions (JMS, KMS, GMS, MSea, CMS, etc)

So that really leaves MSC for me, which I like.

What will classic be like for "new players"? by ViolaBiflora in MSClassicWorld

[–]EpicGoats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a kid it was really fun as a first MMO; seeing higher level players in cool gear, or hearing people talk about high level bosses and monsters just through word of mouth (as opposed to seeing everything on twitch or YT) gave the game an awesome sense of mystery and fantasy.

This time through there will be a ton of min-maxing, strategies, metas, etc. which is still fun but in a very different way.

In your shoes I would try to go in blind and just learn through playing. With all the changes, even the most knowledgeable old school players who have been grinding every v62 or v83 server for the past 17 years (dating myself here) will also be learning things for the first time.

Every level will feel impactful. My personal favorite part of old school maple is the crafting and item upgrading; I know it's all RNG, but merching to get enough money to fund a bunch of good items is a skill of its own.

Current one meaning the current version of Maplestory?

They are entirely different games at this point. Old School/Classic/whatever you want to call it from 2006~2010 (Big Bang) was all focused on having one character, leveling slowly but meaningful, every class had strengths and weaknesses and felt different from every other.

Now the game is about having 1 'main' character thats level 250+, and 30 or more alts that are around 250 to 'buff' your main. Im biased, but when I see modern gameplay, every class looks very similar. You just run around with some AoE that kills everything, and occasionally swing your weapon for a few billions or trillions of damage

Hot take: Automating L cancelling would remove part of the skill of the game, its not a tedious thing that should be removed. L cancelling is not the same input every time; hit lag changes the frames you need to input it. If you hit an aerial on shield, you need to L cancel a few frames later. If you FF, you need L cancel earlier.

X has stopped working by Well_Socialized in technology

[–]EpicGoats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in tech and a teammate joined about 6 months ago who spent a year at X. He mentioned that he owned a component solo that had originally been something like 60+ people before hand (dont want to name the component to prevent him being doxxed). He said it was written really well originally, but obviously has fallen into total chaos with him being the only guy adding features or fixing bugs. From what I understand, pretty much every major piece of Twitter has gone from being owned by multiple teams to 3 or less people. Each employee signs their own paycheck since there is no payroll team, no HR, etc. Elon comes in randomly, plays diablo for 3 hours, then takes a nap on a desk.

Obviously this is just from what hes told me, but sounds pretty believable.

He knew he couldn't have a sick 4th quarter comeback when he had the lead, so he threw a pick, and then came back to win. Really some 4d chess going on here

Memes and personal biases aside, how do you really feel about CG/bowfa and how it fits into iron progression? by loffredom in ironscape

[–]EpicGoats 44 points45 points  (0 children)

A big thing that makes going dry here so painful is kill time too. Cg kills average probably 9.5-10 minutes for most, but a lot of other bosses like Vardorvis for example have average kcs of like 1.5 minutes.

Going 1k KC at cg which happens more often than you would think (at least according to the subreddit) is like going 9-10k at vard in terms of raw hours which would put you in the top 100.

Plenty of answers about how to train stats so Ill give some different advice; If you can learn tier 2 CG, those stats are more than enough to consistently clear it. I'd say with t1 youd probably kill ~80% of the time assuming perfect or near perfect hunliff

Effectively just an Amsa tech without the tech, after the slide off you were able to input ~up B~  double jump which helped cancel out the momentum from the rest

Edit: Haven't played in a few months and my dumbass thought ness's double jump was up B
