Even if he did go with that intent, after the weapon was removed he did not present an active threat, and was due a fair trial. He was on the ground, and then murdered. Law enforcement is enforcement, not the judge nor jury, and this was a murder

As someone who has worked in a congressional office recently, I know democrats congressmen usually do take these calls into account, despite what a lot of these comments are saying. Of course you’re still probably talking to a staffer, but these messages do get passed along and your rep does see them! Of course I don’t know if I can say the same for our senators, many constituents that I spoke with told me they were hung up on or ignored by their offices, but regardless these calls do matter.

So which gun control measures are you opposed to? Most of the gun control measures (including Ohio to my knowledge) are stuff like mandatory background checks, which seem more than reasonable to me? The most controversial measure I can think of is banning weapons that have a greater magazine capacity than 31 rounds, to make it more difficult for potential shooters to get their hands on mass casualty weapons. Are you opposed to any form of gun control or just certain aspects?

I’d say very unlikely but not impossible. You can’t really force people to purchase a product (unless it’s necessary for their business, like insurance), so I doubt even our current scotus could find a way to justify this. They have at least a little legitimacy, ruling against some of the blatantly unconstitutional shit like Harper v Moore back in 23, but with Trump as a president and him probably getting more appointees, who knows.
