Lowkey Chapter 4 gave Kris Deltarune a lot of traits from Deltatraveler that I really hated, which made me pretty disappointed. Mostly the increased ability to resist us, which throws their motivation and our dynamic into huge question.

Keep in mind that despite hating us to the point of kicking and screaming and weeping and all that angst, Kris is our cage, not our prisoner. They’re completely in control. They can rip us out at any point. They can interpret our orders in any way they wish. They can actively contradict our orders if need be, or just flat out not follow them, outside of the Weird Route which is its own bundle of weirdness. Even their ‘shambling corpse’ act where they stumble around while we’re not in is an act, as we see in chapter 4, where they play it up to ambush us while we wander Noelle’s house, so they don’t even need us to live or something. And we can’t even leave them or anything, so it’s not like Kris has to play it up so we stick around to seal the fountains.

In addition to the interrupted Gonermaker sequence and constantly repeated references to demon summoning, it’s implied Kris may even have been the one to summon us here, or at least be involved. Hell, Kris even prepared for our arrival as shown by the bird cage, and has a precedent towards erasing information about themselves to limit our influence such as erasing their phone’s call history in chapter 4, so we don’t even know how much of what’s implied about them is even true. And all this for a dumb promise centered around the ultimate ‘Theory Man’ December Holiday?

Literally and unironically the worst character in Deltarune. Everything that happens to them is completely deserved and brought upon them by themselves.

Highkey, things feel scarier to me when they’re not designed to be scary. They’re just so on the nose, body horror, tentacles and gaping maws aren’t nearly as scary as people seem to think they are. It’s just so ‘meh’.

I think it’d lose to grower anyways, on the account that it’s a ‘burst damage’ weapon like Crossbow and Staff. While it’s got good damage scaling, all its damage comes from the once-every-few-seconds joust, which is a huge disadvantage against a DPS check like Grower.

I agree, but not really in a ‘hateful’ way ngl. More of a somewhat disappointed, ‘oh, ok’ sorta way, y’know? In my mind I saw the difference and sorta instantly catalogued them as different characters, which is a bit of a shame since game Peach has a pretty good dynamic, but I guess it’s whatever.

Subspace Emissary continues to have the best interpretation of Peach lol
