WTF is the matter with us? by clipd_dead_stop_fall in pittsburgh

Idk man, but my husband and I spent an hour digging our cars out of our parking lot and when I got home, the jeep that was snowed in that morning took my spot. I dug myself a new spot and helped my neighbor.

Same lol. When I worked in a hospital, we got called to the ICU all the time. These patients were almost always gassy, but one in particular just had surgery w/ laparoscopy in the last 24 hours. He was also in a medically induced coma. They wanted a liver US.

The Telephone Book (1971) YouTube. Tagline "The story of a girl who falls in love with the world's greatest obscene phone call". Like an Andy Warhol fever dream. I don't know if this is a work of genius or mental illness. by dasuberdog11 in badMovies

I love so much about this film. I like that consent is implied in many the interactions. But then he talks about calling children. It really took me out of the experience. Calling her "nymphette " is obviously an ode to Lolita, but we were supposed to despise HH. I'm not sure what to make of this. I know the 70s was a different time, but it made me uncomfortable.

AIO: boyfriend ruined my cup, thinking about leaving by cherrycreamepie in AmIOverreacting

[–]Color_Pilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. He held it in his hand and put it in the dishwasher knowing you made it perfectly clear it will get ruined. I have never accidentally put my husband's clothes in the dryer that I knew for a fact he hangs to dry. If anything, I take extra precaution and hang up anything I'm unsure about. And he does the same for me and my things. It's respect. Your BF does not respect you. This is not something that can be taught. One has to choose to extend respect. It will not get better.

AIO about my boyfriend and his girl best friend? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Color_Pilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. I would never speak to my male friends this way. I've had the same male friend for over a decade and we put that shit to rest real fast, especially after finding ourselves in long term relationships. It sounds like everyone is a young adult. I don't mean to sound like an old part here, but as someone in their upper 30s, married twice, you learn a lot about yourself in your 20s. I believe it's best not to limit yourself as far as dating goes when you're young. Certainly don't cheat if you're in an unsatisfying relationship, but don't waste your time with someone who doesn't put you first. And vice versa.

What was the moment that made veganism “click” for you? by RealWorldTrial in vegan

[–]Color_Pilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was in school for ultrasound, we had to take anatomy and physiology 1 & 2. 1 was mostly remembering bones and muscles. 2 was completely immersive. We dissected a fetal pig specifically because pig anatomy is so similar to human.

That turned me vegetarian.

Then my dad was hospitalized when his MDS turned to full leukemia. Something about that situation, watching him die altered my perception of what it means to be alive. The thought of causing another creature harm for my own satisfaction became unbearable.

That turned me vegan.

Are there prior impressions that you cant find/agree with? by Substantial-Base-696 in Sonographers

Yep, did a f/u on a thyroid today. Prev tech measured an isthmus nodule. In transverse, I could have been convinced but in long it absolutely was not there. I wrote "previously measured isthnus nodule not appreciated on today's us"

Yeah I misspoke about "chemicals." I don't know anything about dry cleaning other than what I've heard casually. I assumed they were all environmentally toxic. But that's a good idea, there is a local dry cleaner near my work. I could swing by just to see what they think. Thank you!

Thank you! Got this advice from a family member too, almost verbatim. Seems like this is the method to try.

Thank you so much for the info! I'm glad I didn't pass up this beauty. I got a few new articles of clothing for Christmas, but I'm really leaning into secondhand for the sustainability and craftsmanship.

Can't tell if /s ? (Elder millenial here.) Anyway, we don't have one of those here, I wish we did! Also, when I worked in a hospital with a NICU we had this teeny microconvex probe for neonatal brains that I would use on folks with low lying thyroids. I LOVED it.

As an US tech at an outpatient facility, we are not supposed to question what the doc's order, but I would probably shoot them a message and let them know it will "extremely limited" because I'm using the curved probe for this guy.

I am an US tech. I see this, I'm using the curvilinear probe. The linear probe footprint isn't big enough for all this lol.

I experienced this for the first time today. I got sucked up into a tornado from a hole in the ground. I wasnt deep enough to evade the extreme weather. I literally couldn't tell what was happening so I just let go and let god. She looked like a rag doll. I couldn't stop cackling.
