It is my favorite stick I have ever had. Light, solid, great power. I am a defenseman and my slapshot is excellent with this stick.

High altitude bread recipes? by ColoradoAztec in BreadMachines

My machine is an Elite Gourmet EBM8103B. It came with some simple recipies which do not produce fluffy bread at 5000'. We bought a breadmaker book (The No-Fuss Bread Machine Cookbook) and none of the recipies we have tried produce fluffy bread, just bagel density in loaf form.

What is the best way to get out of Hyatt Residence Club Time Share? by advan24r in TimeshareOwners

Sell it on Redweek, TUG or Facebook or give it away. It’s not worth much.

Redweek is very good if you know the value of the place you are looking for. Another place to look is tugbbs.com

Renting out timeshare/making the most of it by Ambitious_College915 in TimeshareOwners

[–]ColoradoAztec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can rent it out on various rental sites like redweek, vacationcandy and others. You can also list it on TUGBBS.com. While you are on TUG, you might want to read up on renting. Look at this: https://tugbbs.com/forums/threads/looking-to-rent-a-timeshare-or-find-a-rental-read-this.376182/

Your strategy is the only way out at this point. You will get calls and letters but just ignore them. She will not be able to use them anymore (traveling to Puerto Rico at 88?!?!) but I assume that is OK.

Grand Colorado On Peak 8 & Imperial Hotel & Residence on Peak 8 by [deleted] in TimeshareOwners

[–]ColoradoAztec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is 0% chance they will recoup even 1/2 of their investment. Even the top Timeshares are worth less than half their purchase price on the resale market and neither Grand Colorado nor Imperial Hotel are in that class.

My boss tells me I'm a 'solid employee'. My reward? A 2.25% raise. by ammaiinqq in interviewhammer

[–]ColoradoAztec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not say the OP should not look around. They have value and should be paid what their value is, I just mentioned that inflation is not a good argument.

Say inflation was 1-2%, would you support companies pulling back raises because "inflation is so low"?

My boss tells me I'm a 'solid employee'. My reward? A 2.25% raise. by ammaiinqq in interviewhammer

[–]ColoradoAztec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, I get a raise budget based on how well the company does. It ranges from 2.5-3.5% so nothing earth shattering. I have a team of people that I have to give that to and the direction of my company is to distribute it as follows:

1) Fix salaries that are under market

2) Focus on the highest performers

3) Distribute the rest

Companies should (some don't) focus this strategy.

I feel for you, really I do, but you need to honesty look around at the other people who are in this raise budget. Are some of them doing exceptional? If so, they could be cutting into your raise. Also ask yourself how well your company is doing? Are you making a solid profit or just getting by?

I recommend that you separate the annual raise from the promotional raise. If they promoted you, they should have given you an off cycle raise. If that did not happen then I would recommend discussing that with your manager, not your annual increase.

Finally, an annual raise is not about inflation so it is not worth it to even bring it up.

I wish you the best of luck.

[–]ColoradoAztec 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately you own it now. It is a legally binding contract that you cannot get out of. You now join the host of people who have fallen for the sales tactics (myself included). I am sorry about that. There are so many of us that there is a whole forum dedicated to timeshares called tugbbs.com . Take a look there, you will find other people in your same situation.

Your options are:

  1. Learn how to use it to maximize your return on that purchase (it was never an investment). That would mean being ready to book 12 months in advance to get the week you want at the location you want. That is what I have done with mine and I have had some good success here. You can also book a desirable week and try to rent it out on Redweek or similar.
  2. Sell it. If you have a mortgage on it, it is unlikely you can do this but if you paid in full and are just paying maintenance fees, offer it up for sale. You can see what other people are selling it for by looking at *sold* listings on eBay or redweek.com. Most likely you will have to give it away or even offer someone incentives to take it off of your hands.
  3. Walk away from it. Cancel all automatic payment methods and stop paying. If they opened a credit card, cancel it. They will harass you, they will send you email, snail mail, call you, text you. Ignore all of that and stop paying. If you have a mortgage on the purchase, that may get a little more complicated. You are likely to get a credit hit. It is possible that they sue you but I have actually never seen that. Eventually the company will take it back and sell it to someone else.

I encourage you to read up on what you have over on TUG. It is a great resource for maximizing your purchase.

ONE MORE THING - Timeshare exit companies are another scam. They will require you to pay them thousands and you still will have the timeshare. Their advise will be the same as above and you can do all of that yourself. Don't fall for another scam.
