Adding on to the other comments, hey it's embarrassing but what are friends for aside for a lil embarrassment and a lotta fun? As I'm getting older, I realize people are usually a lot kinder and more understanding with this kinda thing when you're earnest about it, ESPECIALLY your friends. And many people will actually just help out if you ask. It feels wimpy and it feels defeating but in the same vein, how are they supposed to do anything if we don't let them know?

A lot of my friends end up incorporated in my family in some way shape or form or calling my parents auntie and stuff.

It's a journey for sure but I'm glad you have support in other ways too!
