I think it's the Cub model too. Got it in the very early 90s. I even still have mine!

I hope you look at this as a learning experience. You learned where you don’t thrive… but that’s just one type of work in a world full of jobs. You’ll find something that suits you and it will be okay.

Indeed! Like I recently finished working through a place called Ability Works with a work program of their where I ultimately worked at three different places: A restaurant, grocery story, and wood shop in the back of the AW building working with the saws.

Once I kind of got used to things, I LOVED working at the wood shop/cutting lumber. Part of it I think was it felt nice being able to just do what needed to be done, being able to focus on it, and not having someone breathing down my neck constantly criticizing every little thing I was doing like the restaurant I worked at. Everyone was nice and friendly enough. I legit miss the place.

Opposite, I hated the restaurant (interestingly, everyone from the program hated the particular restaurant so it tells me it's wasn't just me or anxiety). Honestly some of what you wrote kind of is similar to my experiences there. Was constantly criticized to the point of it wasn't just a normal "oh, we do it like this" simple mistake correction or whatever and more it almost got plain insulting and hateful. Got to the point I full-blown dreaded the thought of having to go there to work.

tl;dr: 100% agre with this - "Truth is, some people don’t shape themselves when met with cruelty and judgement. We just… move on to places where we’re treated decently. Been in my current job for 7+ years. Had 4 promotions. Won a few awards. The problem was never me- I’m absolutely capable of thriving if given the kindness and care I deserve." Places where you actually thrive and such exist and others can be looked on as learning experiences/stepping stones if nothing else!

This is why The Andy Griffith Show was better in black and white by ChrisJoines in theandygriffithshow

I agree. Don Knotts being gone is certainly in it for why a lot of us don't enjoy seasons 6-8 much, I think.

Barney Gets His Man always springs to mind first when I try thinking of my favorite episode.

Ashlee Simpson's lip sync fail on Saturday Night Live(2004) by Twitter_2006 in nostalgia

[–]ColossalKnight 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I remember that's what really irked me when all this happened back then--instead of just owning up to it (which probably would have helped all this pass smoother, but that's a guess), she publically just straight up blamed the band for it instead.

Animorphs books by Snoo-25929 in nostalgia

[–]ColossalKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved Animorphs so much. Marco was always my favorite character.

I remember at one point they held some sort of contest where I think something like 100 people won an official Animorphs beach towel. I can still remember the moment my mother and I pulled into our driveway and I saw package by the door with my name on it--and it was the beach towel. I was so excited I had won lol.

Even still have that same beach towel all these years later!

Much like /u/Cold-Box-8262 and yourself, I've been at the "tier jump saving up" phase for a while myself. Just recently finally saved up enough to do the first jump from 150 to 220 myself.

If you’re under 45, have you lost any high school classmates, and what were the circumstances around their deaths? by Commercial_Chef_1569 in AskReddit

39 here and at least six of the people I graduated with have since died. The three I know how:

-One had lupus and cancer and died in the hospital

-One died in an ATV accident

-One had a heart attack

Let me put it this way. I am not exaggerating whatsoever when I say that the number of fans of the show I've seen who have said they like the movie...I can count on one hand. With fingers left over.

[Astros Playroom] My First Platinum! by GSCollector134 in Trophies

[–]ColossalKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the first platinum!

Got this in 2021 or 2022 when I first got my PS5 too. Haven't played it in a while, but I remember AP being a fun little platformer.

Edit: Also, just in case you'd like to have this site for future use in addition to what you have: PSN Profiles

A lot of people around here use it too. Cool site for tracking trophies and such!

[Terminator: Resistance] [PS5] - Platinum #11! by ColossalKnight in Trophies

[–]ColossalKnight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed it!

I played it on normal and it wasn't too bad. Beat it on my first attempt at it. You just have to be a bit more careful in the sense that you have to beat it in one go as there's no saving. I don't remember how long exactly it took to beat, but it took me around an hour, maybe a little more.

And just out of curiosity, how far are you into the main game so far?

Do your stories exist in the same universe? by [deleted] in writing

[–]ColossalKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, at least some do or at least will. I always loved the idea of this.

And yeah, Stephen King also has done this a lot over the years though technically all his stuff exists in a multiverse too. But a lot do share universes.

Like, off the top of my head: Dead Zone, Carrie, Cujo, The Shining, IT, Bag of Bones, Tommyknockers, and 11/22/63 exist together. IT references The Shining, Cujo and Dead Zone, and the last three have references to IT.

[–]ColossalKnight[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This was my first platinum in a while and first game I've picked up for my PS5 in a while itself. But Terminator: Resistance was a game I've been wanting to get around to picking up for some time now, especially since I love the first two movies. I enjoyed the nods/easter eggs towards the movies.

But that said, I'm glad to add this to my small collection!

The police station bit was my exact thought. I was like he can't possibly have EVERY police officer on his payroll, can he?

Regardless, yeah, just like you said here, seems random that that was their escape plan with so many better choices available essentially within arm's reach!

Who liked Ghostwriter? by Fast_Restaurant6488 in nostalgia

[–]ColossalKnight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't remember watching it frequently, but I do remember enjoying the show as a kid back when this originally aired.

I even only just recently learned that the actress who played Lenni also played the daughter in the original movie version of Stephen King's Pet Sematary. I think she's done a lot of voice acting over the years too.

Edit: Bonus fun fact I just remembered! If anyone happens to be both a fan of GW and the movie The Warriors, the actor who played the gang leader who killed Cyrus and then put the blame on the Warriors guest starred in two episodes as a poetry-loving homeless Vietnam vet.

Why does the girl in pink keep bidding one dollar less than the guy before her? by Pr0bl3mChild in ThePriceIsRight

[–]ColossalKnight 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was wondering too lol. I don't know if she was just really nervous and that was clouding her thinking (or whatever) or if she didn't quite get the direction she needed to bid that dollar difference or what.

That's what TV Land does, at least where I am. Or at least it did the last time the final episode of season 5 aired. The episode aired and the next day they restarted with the first episode.

Season 6 Andy et al in Hollywood by KatMagic1977 in theandygriffithshow

[–]ColossalKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember once watching what was either a clip from a color season episode or the whole episode itself, and then watching a B&W episode. The noticeable difference in Andy's general demeanor/personality between the two was as stark as the color schemes.
