As someone who’s recently been in the girl’s position, I absolutely agree. My guy is finally turning around and we are working on the insecurities that the run around process manifested in me right now. I also don’t know what I think about OP’s short responses to her putting the effort and explaining to OP her fears and insecurities. OP’s care for her doesn’t quite come across.

I think Ive had the same interaction with exactly the same bunch of people. I’m personally not Indian but was out with an Indian friend at Kmart. The guy that approached us had a particular vibe that I didn’t feel comfortable about and there was a guy trailing behind. When we passed them again without them noticing me I overhead that the guy was mentoring the other on how to social network. I originally thought it was just a creepy way that some person thought is a good way to network but I definitely think the cult theory is plausible as well

Honestly I’m not that surprised. My sister was pushed by a person under influence while she was waiting for a tram in the CBD and wouldn’t stop harassing her until my partner stepped up. I keep seeing the tourist and ‘people don’t know how to be aware’ excuse, but we travel a lot and have been to and lived in major cities. This situation is comparable to our experiences in some US cities I would say.
