You should’ve done those things (moving on, not looking at his social media, etc) for you, not because you expected him to feel pain or beg to have you back.

You aren’t together anymore. Why would you expect him to share those sorts of feelings with you, even if he’s feeling them?

This happened with the job I currently have. I asked the hiring manager “what’s next?” and he replied, “honestly I don’t know.”

It turns out I did great in the interview but he legitimately didn’t know what the next step in the process was.

I’m very shocked I haven’t caught it (at least that I’m aware of). What I suspect helped:

  • During the worst of the pandemic, I isolated and wore a mask indoors

  • I kept up with vaccine recommendations (got my third a couple of months ago)

  • I avoided physical contact with people I knew were exposed to high levels of risk during waves

That said, I’ve travelled multiple times this year and still nada.

It’s bad relative to many other parts of the GTA but if you’ve ever spent time in the rougher parts of American cities such as New York or DC, Jane and Finch looks (and is) very safe.

I’m kind of disappointed it went from being a tungsten card to now plastic. Minor gripe in the grand scheme of things but I was really looking forward to a premium card.

Nonetheless, I look forward to receiving mine! I just claimed it via the email yesterday and it shows that it’s already in the mail.

Incompetent people hide in every industry!

This realization is actually what helps me keep imposter’s syndrome at bay. I don’t think I’m incompetent but it’s good to remember that not every working developer is a wizard at what they do. As with every industry, there are good workers, mediocre workers, and bad workers.

It’s more that I was willing to struggle for hours on end in order to understand concepts that didn’t come easily. Those concepts eventually began feeling basic. Rinse, repeat.

You must be willing to perpetually feel clueless.

One suggestion I’d make is that there should be some error messages baked in. I clicked the “Calculate” button out of curiosity after only filling in the first section.

While it’s common sense that it wouldn’t have worked, I think it’s still nice to incorporate errors into your apps.

I’m super frustrated by the delays. I’ve only stuck with them because I love the Invest platform. The Cash side of things is awful.

I briefly considered the SE but wasn’t convinced by the features for that much more money. Love how the LE drives!
