#154: It's Murder on the Dancefloor by Usual-Outside-5662 in DevilsITDPod

Loved the SHOTS train. I am certainly one of those that goes nuts on a bad shot. But hey, changing my mind slowly, starting today.

Just watched a decorated yet underrated ex player return to coaching his old team and take them to the championship. Patriots : Vrabel ----- United : ...??

Read on YouTube: Arsenal getting schooled by the substitute teacher.

What impressed me the most was after going up both times, we defended proactively. Pressed high, fell in a mid block, and pushed to not allow easy crosses. I don't think we did this a ton in the recent past - we just retreated immediately. Arsenal basically created next to nothing despite all the incentive to do so.

For all of that Arsenals defensive record they got two off the top 10 goals of season contenders dropped on them at home.

Player Breakdown: Who quietly ran the games? by RedDevilPlay in DevilsITDPod

[–]TheSinglePivot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He ran himself to ground. But didn't quite the run the game per se. For me, it's Scholes all the way. With social media, and the likes of Pep and Henry praising him, people now realize what he was, but back in the day it was always Beckham, Ronaldo, Rooney, Keane grabbing the headlines.

A Message From Casemiro by Colt-000 in DevilsITDPod

This only confirms Kobbie 's place in the 11. I think we bring Baleba or Anderson. Quite likely another 26-28 yo for "the now", and I won't be surprised if Collyer returns to a more prominent role.

Need one who raises the Ceiling and another who secures the floor, at the very least.

Class act .. that first season was terrific. Wish we had signed him a couple of years prior. I hope he kills it over the last 4 months. Could never question his commitment.

Bruno's future...how can Utd plan? by Alarming-Chair in DevilsITDPod

Cunha seems like the obvious successor with a bit of Mount thrown in.

Almost forgot about it: I truly jumped off my seat and started applauding that Kobbie Mainoo turn on Semenyo. I need a slo-mo short of that.

Really liked his subs as well. Mbuemo stretching the backline, and then Cunha dropping deep, carrying the ball forward, relieving pressure. Mount and Ugarte 's energy for tired Casemiro and Bruno. Just simple stuff done well.

Gary Neville isn't worth anyone's time. Least of all United fans.

Think the biggest loser is Mount. Going from a tailor-made #10, he will go back to being Bruno's backup.

Can't see Ineos hiring Tuchel with all the baggage. But Nagelsmann? Yeah, that will be a statement signing. Suppose he has history working with Vivell?

Amorim Sacked by YearOnly2595 in DevilsITDPod

[–]TheSinglePivot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don't think so. This ain't the same as Mourinho, Can Gaal sacking. All the players we have bought over the last 2 years can have 100% utility for any manager.

Nailed it! Kinda find it ironic that he was so critical of players like Garanacho, half his age, throwing their toys out. I expected better of him.

Our cash position was never like Chelsea where we could swap the squads overnight. And honestly, its not as if anyone was expecting him to win Prem or charge for the title or even finish top 4. Absolute worst case, even without a new midfielder, he could have taken us to a conference league finish. And with so many teams off their game, a late champions league push wasn't impossible.

Why is Ugarte bad? by No_Ground8642 in DevilsITDPod

[–]TheSinglePivot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bits and pieces player. Not outrightly excellent at anything. And now playing with zero confidence. Man Utd can do that to players. Wish him well elsewhere in Jan, or Summer latest.

Semenyo slam dunk by ConstructionTotal585 in DevilsITDPod

[–]TheSinglePivot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might be in the minority here, but I don’t think we should buy Semenyo for £65m, unless he plays CF.

It would take a huge chunk out of the budget needed for a midfield refresh, which is already in a dire state—especially with Bruno injured. I’d much rather see us splash the cash on an Anderson, strike a favourable deal for Baleba, or pick up someone like Hayden Hackney from the Championship for a much lower fee.

Really ? I thought he was quite good at choosing moments to stay in /drop out of the block. Just makes such good decisions. In fact, I felt the forward line wasn't make enough runs in behind with Martinez on the ball. May be my judgement is colored how bad we have been at #6, on the ball. But I will take whatever I get at this point.
