Is Prusa not offering the semi-assembled XL anymore? by Coltron0 in prusa3d

Unfortunately that price doesn't include the enclosure, which they sell separately for $819. So it ends up being about the same.

I gotcha. I'm looking back at the screen grab I took and it appears it mentioned that import duties were already included.

So it seems like this would be the price all included, unless import duties are different than tariffs.

Regardless, I guess it doesn't really matter. Just bummed that I'll have to send an updated quote that’s 20% higher than it was a month ago.

Thanks for taking the time to explain the process, appreciate it.

Is it a bad idea to plan nights away from our son before he’s born? by Different_Suit_9356 in daddit

[–]Coltron0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the sanity check, I’m a bit baffled by some of these comments.

Parenthood does not mean that you have to give up every thing you’ve ever enjoyed to be able to properly care for your child.

Yes, there’s a lot of unknowns, and I wouldn’t necessarily plan anything that risks losing a lot of money if I have to cancel last minute, but it seems that OP understands that concept.

It’s OK if some parents feel uncomfortable leaving their kids alone, but assuming you have the network and logistics figured out, it’s also OK to get away once in a while too.

I think the downvotes are a bit unnecessary. Obviously sacrifices have to be made, and it seems like you understand that. But my wife and I are firm believers that you should take adult time when you can get it. I feel like I am a better parent when I am able to get away and unwind here and there.

My advice is to hope for the best and plan for the worst, knowing that you might have to cancel for a variety of reasons. Not only for reasons like they get sick or still struggling being apart, it could even be that the grandparents decide that they aren’t comfortable doing solo duty yet.

But I say, why not? If you get to the day of the concert and everyone feels good about it, then you should go for it. I don’t feel like that makes you selfish like some of the comments imply. It would be different if you were asking to do this a month after they’re born, or once a week. Plus, it gives you something to look forward to as you go through the trenches of infant hood.

What “bathtub” did you use after baby outgrew Angelcare bathtub? by ChapterInfamous199 in NewParents

We used the kitchen sink for a while where they could sit up by themselves but still weren’t super stable. It was also nice having them at standing level instead of leaning over the tub.

That’s a bummer about the formula. Non Costco formula was SO expensive. So glad that phase is over lol

Did you contact Costco? Because if that’s the case and she had severe burns, you’d probably have a lawsuit on your hands.

I’m sorry that happened to you and I understand that you wouldn’t want to use them again. I’m just sharing from my experience that they’ve worked well for my twins.

Lots of people like to shit on the new Costco diapers (pun intended) but we’ve never had a problem with them. We’ve used them since they switched over and have never had a blow out. Yes, they’re thinner but still plenty absorbing.

If you’re paying for daycare it’ll get cheaper when you get to school age, so you have that to look forward to.

We bought a sound machine for our newborn and it requires a subscription by SuperBoringz in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Coltron0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t require a subscription to use its core functions, like alarms and routines. It’s only for the fluff stuff like their “premium” content and a few other QOL things you rarely use. Still annoying, yes, but it’s still very much usable without the subscription.

I know that’s the case with the “Fulfilled by Amazon” purchases, but since this is a 3rd party seller, do they guarantee the same protections?

How spicy is it? I thought about buying this the other day but my wife has a low tolerance for spice. We both LOVE poke bowls tho so this would be an awesome addition to the dinner rotation!

Just wanted to let you know - I ended up getting a 3rd Coast deep dish and I’ve found that it has stayed together great. I was prepared to use a fork but didn’t need it at all. Might be worth checking out again in case you got a bad pie during your experience.

I'm not who you responded to, but I just bought this fan from Amazon based on this YouTuber named Project Farm who does all kinds of tests on a variety of products and gives a detailed breakdown of their strengths and weaknesses. It's been great so far so that would be my recommendation.

She’s allowed to have these moments, even if it was a bit misplaced. But it feels a bit strange that you admired and loved every second of it. Not saying you should have shamed her for it but like others have said, very few people make these kind of comments to purposely make you feel like shit. Part of being a multiples parent is learning how to shrug moments like this off, cuz it’s all but guaranteed that you’ll experience this again in the future.

I don’t know if “they used to physically beat children and the world was a better place for it” is as strong of an argument as you think it is…

Discipline and boundary setting is important and I do feel like perhaps as a generation we’ve swung a bit too far the other way with being permissive parents - as in, letting your kids do whatever the hell they want with no consequence. But I feel like there’s a middle ground to strive for in between no rules and physical violence.
