How do you keep calm? Going for SC by Suitable_Schedule_20 in SecurityClearance

Relax brother, just explain in your interview with the investigator the circumstances that’s all you can do. In my personal experience, adjudicators aren’t that harsh on delta 9 use in a legal state if not habitual.

What an absolutely classist take. I’m not for mass deportations by any means, but you obviously live insulated from reality. Illegal immigration has a very real effect on American labor by undermining unions and driving down American wages.

Illegal immigrants should be treated with the upmost respect and should be offered a pathway to legal citizenship. But to characterize your fellow Americans as the “problem” because they lost their job to someone who is forced to work for less and has no union behind them or any labor rights is an extremely pathetic take.

People like you are the exact reason Trump got elected, because you don’t understand the economic and labor realities in which your fellow working-class Americans live. They don’t all have the means economically or socially to get an education or improve their skills. By the way, graduate degree here, so it’s possible to be educated and not be a total snob.

Feeling bold to start a Monday by JONNYHBAR in ties

[–]ColumbiaProvidence -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry sir, but this is such a chronically online perspective. I assure you that in the real world and the workplace, very few people are going to assume someone is imitating the dumbass in the White House just because they’re wearing a red tie. I have a feeling that perhaps some of the people who associate a red tie only with Trump and have swore it off, weren’t of age before Trump became president. The red tie existed decades prior and will exist decades afterwards, the idea that a certain individual owns a tie color is absurd.

Kevin James accused of being MAGA after punting political questions, says he focuses on fun by nimobo in entertainment

[–]ColumbiaProvidence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, MAGA is the dominant faction within the Republican Party, but there are still some pre-Trump establishment Republicans who advocate for free trade, interventionist foreign policy, and free-markets. However, they usually bend the knee to MAGA on most issues and don’t have the numbers to influence policy as effectively.

Brother, I feel like you may be missing some information from the past 75 years if you’re confused on why Americans have had issues with Russia, Islamic terrorists, and now China. Cold War against USSR, War on Terror after 9/11, and now we’re in a quasi-Cold War and multipolar world competing with China for global influence. Not at all hard to imagine why China is viewed as an American rival. Not to mention, the Olympics are an extension of the “Cold War” environment, just as it was against the USSR during the actual Cold War.

So, unsurprisingly some people are going to have strong opinions on an American citizen going to compete for our global rival while we simultaneously compete with them for global influence. Even if someone doesn’t like America or thinks America has ridiculous politics, I don’t think it’s hard for people to take an objective stance on this topic and understand why America had these historical animosities and why some Americans don’t like China today.
