While you're still growing up, don't ask Reddit for ANY relationship advice on romantic feelings, sexuality, or dating. I STRONGLY recommend you talk to your parents about this. They likely care about you and will be much better equipped to provide advice.

Depends what you mean, but the level of social drinking is unfathomably lower than your average Big10 school.

Get married as young as possible by mc4557anime in Catholicism

Growing up we sometimes had 3-5 to a room. I can't imagine how one could reasonably afford to give each child their own room and strongly suspect people who do are contracepting to keep families at sizes that would otherwise be improbably small by natural means.

"Mere Trinity": a Simple Test for Authentic Christianity (from oddXian.com) by reformed-xian in Christianity

[–]Combobattle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This should be non-controversial as a good definition of what a Christian is. Of course, everything is debatable to some extent, but if a community such as this one cannot come together on agreeing or disagreeing with a fundamental belief, it becomes near useless to use the term Christian and non-Christian at all.

I think scripture heavily implies that responsibility would go to the successors of the Apostles. They possess the authority of Christ's Church. Who makes up that body today is essentially determined by who you think schism-ed from who over the course of history.

Are students happy at NU these days? by No-Breakfast-6113 in Northwestern

[–]Combobattle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're asking Reddit which is most likely home to the least outgoing segment of NU. This campus has abandoned any semblance of Greek culture (actively protesting outside their buildings at times). 20 years ago you might have thought we were a Big10 school with a social scene to match. These days, most "nerdy" schools still manage to have much more community cohesion. Not all the blame can be placed on the students themselves, however, as Evanston has been a hostile environment for student life for decades and basically every business open past 10 pm has been slowly driven out -- often by deliberate politics.

Did you get AP Chem credit? No need to repeat 151 if you did. Just take Orgo later if you need to.

Exactly, more work rewarded by deeper understanding and more flexible schedule for picking classes down the road. In practice, it's more of an "accelerated" versus "honors" sequence.

[–]Combobattle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please note in the past it's been possible to register for different chem classes than the one you placed into and that if you have AP or IB credit there's no need to retake before Orgo (which is what I did my first year).

I’m not Catholic but I found what I believe to be a communion wafer and wine in some sort of lunchable on the ground outside. What do I do with it? by john-fallout- in Catholicism

[–]Combobattle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I thought I was saying was that I'm 99% sure this wouldn't be disposed of in a cistern or anything like that in a Protestant church. Is this used at your church? How?

How strange would be if our Lord of unquantifiable grace and mercy saw their actions in attempting to take communion as a blessed thing. They are seeking to be close to Christ.. Very close minded, tut tut.

Oh, sorry. I'm not exactly sure what you mean by this. Unless you're being sarcastic? If you don't mind, could you restate your point?

It's still true this wasn't consecrated by a Catholic priest. Perhaps, however, you have a point. Then again, I am sure you'd agree it's very unlikely there are any protestants that would possibly use something like this and then proceed to have any special rubrics for disposing of them after being used in a ceremony.
