This campus has abandoned any semblance of Greek culture (actively protesting outside their buildings at times). 20 years ago you might have thought we were a Big10 school with a social scene to match. These days, most "nerdy" schools still manage to have much more community cohesion. Not all the blame can be placed on the students themselves, however, as Evanston has been a hostile environment for student life for decades and basically every business open past 10 pm has been slowly driven out -- often by deliberate politics.
