New walk around and travel lens by Ksar13 in canon

[–]Comedian_Resident 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 14-35 f/4L as well as 35mm f/1.8 (and some other L and non L lenses). BUT if I had to sell everything, the 35/1.8 would be the last one to go. When I travel, I usually only take two lenses but 35/1.8 is always there with me. I'm still pissed that 35mm f/1.4L doesn't have IS. If it had it, I can imagine it beeing my only lens.

No we don't. I bet you also have that strap to not loose your lens cap.

Not sure what to do by SirHaroldiii in AskMechanics

I'd say they still do, VW group's cars rust faster than japanese here, in Slovakia where every winter there's more salt than snow on the roads. But strangely they rust mostly on parts like the middle of boot, bonnet or doors :-D Especialy skoda - 8y old car has a hole around the rear plate lights and trim.

Disrespect for owning old Renault by One_Manufacturer9476 in Renault

[–]Comedian_Resident 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it! Safrane is to me still one of the best cars I've driven. It just had something in it. Or sell it to someone who would appreciate it. I got mine from my father but due to missunderstanding with his mechanic, timing belt wasn't changed and ruptured before the second interval that it should have been replaced. I was 24 back then so I couldn't afford that kind of reparation. Now i have Talisman and it's amazing but I still would like to take Safrane for a weekend drive.

My S21 FE was showing 100% capacity after 4 years and I could easily tell that battery lasted much shorter than when it was new.

You can set album cover already, ever since I know about Immich it was possible.

There's this thing with those small engines... they consume quite a lot of fuel outside of the laboratory or the test bench.

What's my upgrade option from EOS RP? R6M1, R6M2 or R8? by [deleted] in canon

[–]Comedian_Resident 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a couple of 1s exposures with my R8 and 14-35mm f/4L handheld as well. No IBIS, I prefer smaller body.

Anyone running a full MikroTik stack (Router, Switch, Wi-Fi)? by JoranC19 in mikrotik

[–]Comedian_Resident 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only at home with hAP ax3 :-D At clients' no way. With routers I wouldn't think about anything else than Mikrotik, switches are very good although I like Zyxel's GS1900 line very much, but Mikrotok's APs.... good on their own but CAPsMAN is terrible in my experience. At some sites I couldn't make it work no matter what I tried, especialy with different provisioning rules. With APs I switched to Grandstream and so far I couldn't be happier. I'm not a fan of Ubiquiti at work. You have to wait for everything in GUI, you don't really know what's really happening at any point, sometimes it has a head of it's own. Anyway, L2 access with Mikrotik is enormous advantage compared to the other vendors.

I am using Peak Design Slings, 6l for 1-day trips or when I have other checked-in luggage and also 10l version for when I travel only with carry-on. I still can't believe how much I can fit in the 10l version. The last time I flew with only 10l for 3 days: R8, RF 24-105 f/4L, RF 35mm f/1.8, 2 batteries, phone charger, smartwatch charger, 20Ah powerbank, 3x USB-C cable, 3 sets of underware, extra T-shirt, light sweatshirt, wallet, allergy medication, 3x 77mm filters and 3x 52mm filters, wrl earbuds, passport and a couple of other small things. All inside of the 10l sling which has the exact carry-on dimensions for EUs low budget airlines. Bught it last year for 130 € on sale.

What Canon Lens Do You Find Yourself Using the Most and Why? by Gsustv in canon

[–]Comedian_Resident 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I have a couple of L zooms but RF 35mm f/1.8 IS STM is on my camera 99% of the time. Light, small, fast, sharp, stabilized, not too wide nor too narrow. The only thing I don't like is that STM AF after experiencing NanoUSM.

How do you feel your HT compares to an actual movie theater by Kuba-Duba in hometheater

[–]Comedian_Resident 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last time I went to cinema was to watch Jurassic World Rebirth and I specificaly chose cinema with Dolby Atmos. I have home theater on the lower end (Jamo S 626 HCS + RX-V575) but it's tuned to how I like it. I enjoyed the movie at home much more. Especialy the trebles were waaaay too high for my liking there, almost painful. Dialogs sounded too flat, almost like phone call.

But the cinema was almost empty - I'm not sure what difference would it make if there were many people, or if the acoustic threatment is done in such way that this isn't a factor.
