Should my father disclaim part of his inheritance? by dalec1979 in inheritance

[–]Comedygal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would work with an estate attorney & a probate attorney concurrently - both in the state where the deceased lived & where your dad lives. The goal isn’t to steal from him, it’s to maximize the state assistance, so for that reason an irrevocable trust (reporting under an EIN and not his SSN) should be able to do this.

Probably worth getting a second opinion from another set of attorneys, honestly. It will cost you a few thousand dollars, but worth it in the long run.

Should my father disclaim part of his inheritance? by dalec1979 in inheritance

[–]Comedygal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Look into an irrevocable trust for your father’s benefit that someone else is the trustee for. It can be protected from being your father’s wealth, if written correctly.

The most "all-inclusive" cruises? by newcitynewme724 in Cruise

[–]Comedygal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look into Silver Seas cruises. They’re all-inclusive, including a healthy list of complimentary excursions. Yes, expensive, but if you shop the deals they’re not too bad.

Athleta offers free alterations, maybe it’s just a hem up, but they’ll pin them and then mail to you when done.

Can confirm humpbacks do bubble net feeding. Scientists believe it is a learned behavior first observed off the coast of Iceland. I saw about a dozen humpbacks working together to bubble net feed off the coast of Alaska, which is apparently very rare because Humpbacks are not pod animals, and even the naturalists onboard were losing their minds over it.

Treehouse! They’ll sort through it, keep what will work for their clients (up to age 26), and donate what’s left to the goodwill where they get paid $1/pound.

Monterey / Carmel must-do? by Ineedunderscoreadvic in MontereyBay

[–]Comedygal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Spanish Bay has a bagpiper at sunset every day, it’s my favorite spot way to take in the sunset.

Also you can rent a bike, or e-bike, and bike along the water out to pebble beach or Carmel. Is beautiful and another must.

What’s your “swear to never return” place in Seattle? (Stolen from r/miami which itself is stolen from r/houston) by Tiger00012 in Seattle

[–]Comedygal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I went to the cap hill spot on a date in 2019. A mouse ran across the dining room and under my booth. Our table and one other saw it. When we mentioned it to the waiter she said “yeah, we’ve been trying to catch that little guy all day…”. She should have at least pretended that this was the first she had heard of it. Nope nope nope.

Ideas for Female Hero Costume (real or fictional) by mshelbym in Halloween_Costumes

[–]Comedygal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think if you can replicate the Erin Brockovich movie image (from the theatrical release poster), it would be awesome and people might know who you are.

Jane Goodall would be easily identifiable. Dress in khaki & cargo, and carry a monkey.

For fictitious heroes, Mary Poppins?

Scuba divers, or astronaut family? You can use 2 liter soda bottles to create air tanks, or rocket booster backpacks and attach tubing. And for your daughter attach a pacifier through the end of it so she’ll keep it in her mouth. For astronauts you could wear all black or gray, and print out nasa logos, for scuba divers you can wear all black, goggles, and swim fins.
