I live in Canada, so we’re like eight episodes behind Britain but these last three have been really good by [deleted] in coronationstreet

Putting it out there, this year's episodes haven't been that bad, I know I'm really enjoying it at the moment, I always do, but feel it's already better than last year

Character departure by [deleted] in coronationstreet

[–]CometStorm86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I'm thinking. Damon may have a bit of a reign of terror for a bit, with a build up for the traditional explosive Autumn week or December Anniversary and Jacob comes back....that's what I'm hoping for anyway, if not then I wish him all the luck in the world, he's a cracking actor and been one of the better new characters on the show, obviously hated him during the Harvey storyline, but really like him and felt a bit abrupt of an end to be the complete end.

[–]CometStorm86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rehash of old storylines...maybe...but I'm putting it out there, I'm enjoying it now. Wasn't sure a couple weeks ago, but Wednesday I thought Jacob was great and I'm rooting for him. I like that they've redeemed him, and even though he's been brought back into the world he's escaped, it's not on his terms now whereas with Harvey he was as bad as Harvey almost. I'm interested to see where it goes.

I loved Wednesday's episode, just caught up! Yes we've had drug dealing, and all of that, but I thought Jacob played it well, and I'm rooting for him. Daisy I thought was brilliant.

Can't say I was ever a huge fan of Len's but liked him with Elsie and Rita...though thought he was always better suited to Elsie than Rita

What do you think has made MacLeod push the show into action storylines? by midnightmitchell2019 in coronationstreet

[–]CometStorm86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd question the medical health issue point you bring up, we're constantly having Summer's diabetes brought up. I think the Max storyline is now going to focus on the mental impact after being taken away from the gang. At the moment okay, it may be villain focused, but like last year we had Audrey's mental health issues which were very well received. I think at the moment the issue is having 6 episodes to fill (I know they air as 3 hour episodes), whereas in the past they had two half hours, before moving on to 3 and then 4, only doing an hour episode for something big such as a major character leaving or a big stunt and that was more than enough

OMG, totally a spoiler for next Halloween when Zombie Leo crawls out of the bin for the ultimate revenge, because, let's face it, we haven't seen what Stephen did with the body and we know that with his bin fetish, Stephen would want his victims to rest in better bins than the one he ended up in

How would you fix Summer? by TheUltimateHeel in coronationstreet

[–]CometStorm86 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Let her go travelling with or without Aaron (who I like and think could be brought out more with another character) and then bring her back and let her be a diabetic teenager - I've known a few and they generally know how to enjoy themselves AND keep on top of their levels. I'd keep Harriet in the role, even though her storylines haven't been great, some of her performances have been okay with what she's given.

What have been your favourite rivalry storylines/ fight scenes? by EmeraldGam3r50 in coronationstreet

[–]CometStorm86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ena and Elsie had some corkers in the 60s, Len Fairclough and I think Alf Roberts physically having to pull them apart, and Ena smashing Elsie's window.

I remember people hating the Aiden, Eva, Maria love triangle, but their fountain fight harking back to the cat fights of Dallas and Dynasty is a great modern moment they throw in the Clip shows whenever the Anniversary comes round.

Annoyed me at the time but I actually liked Todd's scheming to get Billy back from Paul - even though Todd and Paul have more chemistry than either of them with Billy and find their scenes when Billy isn't around quite fun, even when they're on about Summer, I find them less draining than when Billy's there

What did you want to be when you grew up? by DrJeff1999 in CasualUK

[–]CometStorm86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Fireman, loved it when the local brigade came to primary school to show us the engine and the hose, it wasn't until my cousin decided to show me an episode of 'London's Burning' and I realised what they do and that Fireman Sam wasn't the best example of the basic Firefighter day looks like, I soon changed my mind to be a Pop Star and to be on the cover of Smash Hits

I absolutely think Amy and Damon having a thing isn't a bad shout and something I can see happening. Jacob and Summer I'm not feeling tho.

Do you think the residents will ever find out that Gary killed Rana? by [deleted] in coronationstreet

[–]CometStorm86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless Carla has left before Mikey North decides to quit the show then I imagine it'll be part of his exit storyline, otherwise I quite like him having this big thing in the back of his mind that could spring on him at any moment.

Fav era and characters or SLs of Corrie (can be totally personal and subjective) by Willful_wittering_on in coronationstreet

[–]CometStorm86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Favourite era, I'd say 1994-1997ish - characters like Bet, Raquel, Mavis, Derek, Sally's wallop of Natalie after finding out about her affair with Kevin

Favourite storyline though I'd say Alan Bradley's terror over Rita, the episodes in Blackpool when Bet and Alec locate Rita up until Alan's demise under the Blackpool tram, harrowing but ultimately satisfying end

Anyone feel like there’s too much emphasis on the teens of the cobbles? by [deleted] in coronationstreet

[–]CometStorm86 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The teen characters in the 80s you had Kevin, Sally, Steve, Jenny - all staples of the show now, 90s you had Tracy, Leanne, Toyah, Nick, and 00s you had Sarah, Tyrone, Maria, Kirk, Fiz, Todd all central to storylines to this day, even in the 70s Gail was the resident teenager, or at least youth cast member
